Also a disgrace to the police force in the state, still it doesn't say for what amount the injured party will be suing for.
It comes from them feeling that people MUST obey them. And they are never put in check.

OK, so these cops made a mistake, we all do. And we all pay for them as these cops should. I hope they at the very least lose their jobs and are banned from law enforcement for life. They could have killed this kid like the cops did here in Maryland.

Police say the 40-year-old man became combative with fire and rescue officials while being pulled from a car at the scene of a collision Tuesday night on Route 29, near Briggs Chaney Road. Officials requested help from police, who also tried to remove the man from the car. Authorities said an officer used a Taser gun on the man before taking him into custody. The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.
Police said a vial of suspected PCP was recovered from the car.

I think that when a cop abuses the public and the city has to pay damages, the damage amount should come out of the salaries of all the cops on the force, proportional to their pay, i.e., higherups pay more.
That would give them incentive to root out the "bad apples" and to abide by the laws themselves.edit on 30-6-2011 by apacheman because: sp
