Japan Tsunami & various 3:11 verses of the Bible

There are so many discussion forums here I wasn't sure where to post this thread. First off, I'm not a religious person, so even though this topic has elements from the Bible, it's not about religion...just what was written in this book long ago.

Many people think the tsunami that struck Japan earlier this year wasn't really a "natural" disaster. I don't know and at this point nothing can be done about it now to reverse the damage. What is done is done. Anyhow, the whole point of this thread is to share with you a thought that entered my head this morning. I found similar threads but none this specific.

Again, I'm not a religious person but I do know the names of the various "books" in the Bible (John, Mark, Acts, Matthew, Revelations, etc.) So... for whatever reason, John 3:16 popped in my head this morning while I was looking at the Google map area of Santa Cruz, CA and I remembered the tsunami made it's way over here. I then recalled it happened on March 11 and began thinking about how people believe HAARP was responsible and how the Illuminati and (terrorist groups?) use significant dates and or number combinations

Anyhow, without boring you any further with my ramblings, this is what I found:

And to be fair and honest, I didn't site any passages from 3:10 or 3:12. The quotes above are literally taken out of context, however, I find it fascinating how some of the words can relate to the tragedy, the aftermath and how people came together after said incident. But this being said, I just had an argument with my wife about this. She can't handle this type of "negative vampire" talk. This type of stuff interests me and I thought she was someone that could handle these subjects but I've come to realize it's too much for her.

Dude, the bible is meaningless. Just a bunch of vague crap written down and mistranslated for centuries and used to control half the world and spread war and suffering. I guess a few fables might have some vague basis in truth just like old wives tales but when it comes to prophecy, it holds absolutely no credibility.

Mixing doom with the bible, no wonder they talk about blasphemy. Good lord. I just read this and I'm still lost.
The bible is vague as I don't know what. The only thing you got was destruction and 3/11.

If you look hard enough, you can find 'connections' everywhere. Just depends how you interpret them. Here is another for you:

Revelations 9:11

i kept meaning to do thread on the bible. i'm convinced we have got this all wrong. kinda wonder is it really satans handbook for the 10thousand years he rules the world or however long its meant to be.

there is something very dark about life on this planet. try having a disscusion about this and you will be told to stop being so negative.

i think what it comes down to is , people are so afraid to face the truth. the truth of the situation we might actually be in right now. some people try and pretend they know whats going on here and what it is all about , but we all know thats not true. we all know that no one has a goddam clue why we are here and where exactly this is?????

coming from a religious background, I guess you can appreciate that such a history book still exists so many years after it's creation. But the fact is that the powers that be have always altered it to their satisfaction, changed stories, dates, and even names. I feel it's still something to refer to. If he did leave this book for us, it isn't his fault people seeking the best way to control the masses raped the book to the point of confusion.

Afraid to face the truth ? What world are you living in ? I'm far aware, we are screwed. In the end we will still be screwed, why does it matter ?

I completely agree lol, you literally sound like me. I think if just a few ppl who are familiar with the bible would read the Quran, even a few pages, you'll feel a sense of clarity, so well written and unchanged. this book has survived changes and time, it's worth reading and worth discussing. some of us are too happy and complacent with the "world" we live in today to see that this is not what was meant for us. I'm not necessarily religious, just saying how I feel.

Honestly these verses are not specific at all, so these verses could mean anything and can be interpreted many ways. The bibles predictions are so unspecific that anyone could sit there and write predictions not giving a date to when it will happen and the odds are it will happen but it would take time.

The whole point of my post is that it was based on something I "thought" this morning and when I crossed referenced what I was thinking, I found words (whether crap, meaningless or whatever, but they were written way beyond the even of 03/11/11) that made sense to me and I just wanted to share this. But if you're closed minded, then please, thank you, but move along. I already said these words were taken out of context.

It makes me wonder why someone like that would even bother being on a conspiracy board if they're going to be closed minded. Same with the other responders that have to state the obvious... like I don't already know that pretty much anything can be read into?! I know this, and 99.999% of everyone on this board knows this. It would be a little difficult to make a connection "before" the event, wouldn't it? I believe so. And to be honest, I wasn't trying to go there with 9/11, but thanks. I'm sure if I did some search on 4/20 I could find a bunch of stuff too, but this is off topic. This topic is about a thought that came to me this morning about the tsunami on 3/11 and if I could find any relevant subject in the bible and you and and every other naysayer can not deny that there is correlation. Whether you accept it or not, it is not subject to your personal belief. I don't hold any personal beliefs in it myself, however, I can not deny what I read. For example, what I quote above:

I can not give a squirt of piss regarding the bible, but like I keep pointing out, I'm not going to deny what I just read, regardless if it's mumbo jumbo, or if I'm reading into it, or if it's meaningless. I won't deny the existence of the written word if I read it whether it be the truth or not.

I have thought along those lines as well. For the duration of our life, our souls are trapped inside a physical body, a body that can feel all sorts of pain, mental/physical. We are able to inflict pain easily onto to others.
We are 'encouraged' to trap more souls in these physical bodies through the pleasurable action of sex. Resulting in the creation of more physical bodies, trapping more soul (god) in the physical realm, therefore weaking the true god.

I wouldn't say I am convinced though. It's just a thought I have had.

An open mind would be willing to accept that the 'Bible' could be Satan's great deception over mankind.

I wouldn't say so. I would say if there was a possibility that the bible could predict future events, then it should be possible to make a connection. But sadly it is kind of vague, which means the interpretations could be applied to a lot of things.

I didn't mean for this topic to be a religious topic (hence, I would have posted this thread in the the religious forum)... just referencing the bible because I know it has "written words" with chapters, verses, etc. If I had easy access to say... a Stephen King novel, I'll look at chapter 3 verse 11 in his books as well, but I don't have access. This comment is really towards the other poster that made a comment about making connections with pretty much anything or whatever he said, or however I interpreted what he said, LOL.

But anyhow, I like your response. I feel that you are on the same wavelength as me. What upset my wife was exactly as you said. She is tired of the negativity of conspiracy theories, illuminati, etc. She is tired of how negative things are and how they don't correlate to the "big picture" (i.e. they have nothing to do with paying our bills, putting food on the table, etc. etc.) yet at the same frickin' time, she don't want to be disturbed in the morning when she first wakes up because talking is too much to relate to so early in the morning, so she'll sit with her coffee and watch her DVR programs of "Real Housewives", some other reality shows like "Top Model", "Bridezillas", "Bad Girls Club" and now Season 4 of True Blood. Really? She can't handle the negativity of certain subjects yet she subjects herself to that B.S. on TV? Or loves animals and is basically a PETA person, yet eats meat? Not pork or beef, but chicken, turkey and fish. I'm tired of her double standards. She feels these topics are too much for her to handle. I'm fine with that. I needed to hear her say this because I was really tired of her playing along trying to humor me. I could see it on her face as soon as I started trying to say something. I'd rather her be truthful with me as at least it lets me know whom I'm talking to. I mean damn, she's the one that opened my eyes to all this and spoke about the "energy" out there, "syncronicities", etc. Here is a woman with tattoos of an eye of fricken Horus on her hand, some sort of Hindu OHM or OM of her neck and an amulet on her upper arm that looks like twin snakes and she can't handle talking about these subjects anymore? Well, I didn't want to go there about 9/11 because this topic isn't about 9/11. We can go on forever about 9/11.. you know what I saying? (I know you know... but I just had to say that..) So I wanted to just keep the subject on topic. 3/11. Not 9/11. Not 4/20. Not 5/01 (may day), either. Just 3/11.

I never said I read the bible. I said I know of it and know of several books of the bible. Everybody that is literate knows of the bible and it's easy to reference, especially on the internet. And besides, like I keep stressing in my topics, it was something that popped into my mind this morning.

I'm a little sensitive because I had an argument with my wife, so please, forgive, I'm sorry.. LOL. But I was hoping that a conspiracy board like ATS would have more opened minded people. Sure, agree to disagree, but that is one of the problems I'm having with my wife. It's not a matter of her feelings on the subject (me) or injecting your personal feelings or thoughts on my thoughts. But I understand everyone has a need to add their .02 cents and I guess I have to accept it and move on, or just not open my mouth or say anything.. but I'm not that type of person. I know it would be difficult to filter such a thing on a forum board, but that is where a person's own impulse control should kick in...whether or not they can contain their urge to stay on topic, or just read the thread as BS and not respond and click on another subject. I don't know... I'm kind of rambling right now... so my bad. I was just hoping that people would have taken the topic as is, not read into it and add more topics like 9/11 or state the Bible is this or that. The topic was just a thought that entered my mind. I never heard of such a comment. Can you elaborate on 1) Creating more physical bodies via sex. 2) Trapping more soul(?) in the phsyical realm and weakening the 'true' God? Sounds deep, but I never heard such a thing.

Possibly so... however, since there already is a Satanic bible, and other bibles that deal with the dark arts, then this means that there would truly be no "Holy" Bible. I'm not talking about the Koran, or other books similar to the "Bible", I'm referring to the big book, most notably known as The King James version. Jeez, did I quote the New World Translations above? If so, my bad. I have something against J Dubs.

But who knows, if this book really is Satan's book, then I can understand that. Satan/Lucifer is or was both angel and demon. People today use this book in the name of God and supposed for "good" purposes, but it can be argued that various "churches" or "religious" turn out to be nefarious in their ways. So IMHO on this subject, just because this version of "The Bible" is used by supposedly "good" people doesn't necessarily mean it's a "good" book (even if it is referenced as such). It's a book of stories written by men, mostly edited and reinterpreted stories.

Ah, understood. No problem there. Probably best to give the good woman a hug and say sorry, they like that!

When I first stumbled upon this forum, I couldn't believe how negative a lot of people are, how they only seem to see the negative side of things. If you get sucked into it, it can have a very negative effect. Hopefully your wife can keep you grounded in reality.

As for what you originally posted. I can see the similarities. However, as you have gathered, I think it just happens to be a coincidence on this occasion.
