To build any sort of functioning machine you need to build a machine shop. this site explains because that an engine block has fine mechanical tolerances and flat surfaces you can build a lathe
opensourcemachine.org...

With a lathe you can build any sort of machine including a bigger lathe. wings can be fabricated from the sheetmetal and a large hydraulic press can be fashioned out of melted aluminum cylinder heads. your fighter jet will have to be prop plane. if you can build a sheetmetal press and a mill out of an engine block plus frame parts you will be well ahead of dingbats who hoard survival supplies

You can build a crude microwave oven out of alternator wire and magnets.
a magnetron that has a resonant chamber vacuum filled will be more difficlt to make if you don't have a vacuum pump but you could build one out of your lathe and mill if you had the time

The car is such a resource rich technology. i can go on.

Out of curiosity can you make a better thread out of a car?
Preferably one where we do not have to stroke your ego.
