OK, so I was just doing my usual rounds of reading through MSM (I like to keep updated with the "news"), and I noticed this "breaking" headline, by a popular British tabloid (The Sun is normally full of poo, & for the mindless people of Britain).

I think this is proof that it is STILL going on to date (in the same way a little girl from USA, started off a school project on the American Presidents, to find out they were all related, bar one)

Now, we on ATS already know about the past (& present) tradition, of how the "Royals" like to "keep it in the family".

I even read recently a pretty detailed analysis of how the "Duke & Duchess of Cambridge" (Prince Willaim & Kate Middleton) are related, being 9th cousins once removed...

Just find it strange how the public don't seem to care for this fact that these traditions are still going on today...Feels like everything is planned. Or maybe I just find it strange, hooking up with somebody you know is distantly related to you, rather than by pure chance.

If you know anything of history and blood lines this sort of thing happens all the time.....

We are all related, though most are very distantly related.....

Yeah, I hear you there.

But in the case of the "Royals"...It seems to be controlled & planned inter-breeding. I honeslty do not believe it to be co-incidence that Harry & his new girl are distant cousins.

Same with William & Kate. They both "met" at Edinburgh Uni, & Kate "caught" his eye, from the start. I do not believe it to be that, having met, they were completely unaware (as were their parents) that their family tree's are distantly connected.

I'd be more surprised if they weren't related. All the Royals keep it in the bloodline. There is no way they would get involved with anyone outside of their group, not sure how it is news really, was it a slow news day at The Sun, lol.

My post was not off topic. You'd know that if you knew anything about royal history.

What I wrote was at least someone remembered to get cozy with family.

William didn't marry a relation. He broke with tradition by marrying a commoner.
