The pledge of allegiance was hammered into my brain as a child starting at the age of 5 when I started school. For one reason or another, I never wanted to participate in reciting it with the rest of the class. Why would they basically force kids to belive in god? Cause thats all that is.

Growing up, I never had any strong thoughts of god, or felt the need to believe. I actually think that people who believe in god in the spiritual sense, are weak minded people who have no concept of reality, and only believe in god so they feel safe.

See they instill it in us at very young ages with stuff like the pledge of allegiance. The schools controll the kids, the state controlls the school, the government controlls the state, the church/religion controlls the government, and money rules the church/religion. They instill it in you at a young age so that when you get older, you're brainwashed, and you give your hard earned money to the church/religion so that you feel god loves you and they become the real superpower. It's all about controll and who's in charge. Who makes the rules.

Is there a god? If you ask me, it's no. You need more than a book, and coincidences to convince me unlike alot of my fellow humans who can't see throught it. You wanna talk enlightened around here, I'll tell ya, the atheists ARE the enlightened ones. We deny ignorance. When you're dead and gone, you're dead. That's it. Nothing else. Do you really think we live in this magical world with invisable spirits that live among us and they go on with their lives as if they were still alive? Really? At what point do they stop their daily routine and realise they been doing the same thing over and over again for hundreds of years?

It's like these tv shows now, these Ghost Hunters type shows. These shameless losers sit there and lie their asses off to get paid. They investigate buildings, sometimes castles, and the soldiers are still battling eachother..... WTF? So let me get this straight, first off, people are stupid enough to believe in god while living, but are even stupider when they die to not realise they been doing the same thing for hundreds of years? It doesn't dawn upon them to think, wait a second, I'm 347 years old?

Seriously.

To an intelligent person, not believing in god is correct. If I meet somone who goes to church frequently, or prays on a normal basis, or talks about meeting relatives when they die, I don't even bother trying to know them. Cause they are unintelligent, gullible weak minded people, and I have zero interest in socializing with them at all. I feel as if they are beneath me and not on the human level I am on.

Then the argument is usually "well how did we get here then". They don't ask that question to the atheists because they are trying to prove anything, they are asking cause they are scared sh!tless were right, and they are looking for something to beilive in to feel good again. They hate reality checks. Always answering question with questions. Manipulating the meaning of things to fit the story. Been there done that. It's all the same, you religion people are all the same. It's like you were all handed a manual of how to react to doubters. It's pathetic. Don't peach to me. Keep your imagination world to yourself. Don't try and corrupt my brain with doub't. I'm not the broken one, you are. Fix it and stop wasting your life.

Another thing. They hate the possibility of aliens. Why? Casue if an alien exists, and it doesnt look like us, there goes the god created us in "our image" saying, and if god didnt create them, what did? You know how they say that a tornado will put a car together by chance in 1:17,000,000 or something like that? Guess what, Earth and it's living creatures are that car. And the E.Ts that come here, there another car from somewhere else.

Also, while Im on the subject. God created all life on earth right? Why were only humans allowed the honor of being created in the image of god? How did god think up the dinosaurs? Why were we gods second choice? And why did he wait so long to make that second choice?

Religion is just palin retarded if you worship and invisable entity. If you're gonna believe in a god, belive in an alien as your god. It's more realistic and probable. Plus for arguments sake, for every one photo of the real god you show me, I'll show you...... oh wait, you can't. Nevermind.

I know I know, we can't see air either..... see, it's in that darn handbook. It's like I knew you would say that. We can gauge air with wind and such, so we know it's there, even if we can't see it. so save that argument.

Atheism, the right answer, the logical answer.

I strongly disagree. The majority of people that are spiritual realize that even though they have may assume they have a concept of reality, they don't. So they study religion to understand the concept of reality and other matters. If you differ, please explain what is reality?

Also on a second note, there is division of church and state in the USA. If you think not, simple example, look at the school system in Europe. The children are required to take religion during school. The religion class they take depends on which religion their parents adopted.

Well...I was raised Roman Catholic...but then I grew up and became an atheist. I suppose I didn't care for someone else's imaginary friend..Some will say this is where it stops. Not for me. I went on to become a polytheist. I decided 'god' would be whatever I wanted it to be...I realized that humans are designed to worship a concept, place, person or thing, no matter how you see it. The worshipping and idolatry is everywhere. Don't get me wrong...I still have a strong dislike for religion in general...but I would not change what I've become.
I have five deities now that I worship...three of them are in the flesh.

1. You and your daily activities is reality. Your fantasies about spirits and god is not reality. Made up. Made p stuff isnt real. So it cant be reality.

2. Disestablishmentarianism only exists in definition. Notice how big of a word they used to name it? They did that so you wouldnt use it too often. Cause that rule really doesnt exist. If it did, there wouldnt be nuns teaching my neice on a daily basis. K? K.

But it's not just an oninion, it's what they really honestly think is true. And it's painfully laughable. I just feel so bad for them. Like a sleeping puppy about to fall off a chair, so helpless.

Explain to me, when you dream, can you distinguish if its real or not? Take a look around you. What is dreaming then? No relevant references please.

agree with everything here.

religion is really in the process of being phased out, but it will take a major event in america to make most christians reconsider their position.

it's not like christians (just my best example as i have never lived among other religions) are really better people than atheists other than the acts they commit just to get into heaven (which really just proves there is no such thing as an unselfish act); and statistically christians who pray have no more fortune than atheists who don't. just as many christians die in accidents and get terminally ill than non christians.

everyone makes their own religion anyway, and history is continuing to do it's job in proving that following a particular doctrine strictly is just silly. christians will just find whichever interpretation of the doctrine suits them best personally and provides them with most comfort and make further adjustments accordingly.

absolutely every single christian person i know 'sins' on a regular basis. pre marital sex, blasphemy, theft, disrespect of parents, adultery, violence, the list goes on. these are all things that humans do because we are fundamentally flawed.

Although i am not so vehement in my pursuit against Religion. I do favor people being atheist over conversing and interacting with religious people(Mainly because many religious people try to convert you and/or Indecent if you do not believe in their God)

I see where your coming from i too grew up and was raised going to church as a Christian (too many different churches.)

And i always questioned the validity of God.

I am not an Atheist I am an agnostic because i realize there is no way currently to prove whether god/creator exists yet or not.

I grew up similar to you always questioning the Validity of it.

Growing up, I never had any strong thoughts of god, or felt the need to believe. I actually think that people who believe in god in the spiritual sense, are weak minded people who have no concept of reality, and only believe in god so they feel safe.

Although i do not believe in a single Religion from this Earth and think Religion/God is just a term contrived by man; yes i agree.

I will still leave open the possibility for a Creator/God or any other possibility of existence or whatever infinite amount of other theories that can be contrived about our existence open to speculations.

i'm sorry if you feel this way, but i cannot really trust a christian or take anything seriously, knowing that he genuinely believes i am going to hell for all eternity.

unless you are prepared to be honest and condemn me to my face; then i don't but that you truly believe in jesus/heaven etc.

Of course they honestly believe it's true. That's why they have the opinion that they do.

The ironic thing is, I'm not even a Christian, I never read the bible, but philosophy JUST philosophy and metaphysics are great topics for atheists to learn about.

I like how you are frank about it S & F'ed!

I too think that Aliens will cast doubt for many people on the validity of Religions.

Since most of the Religions were and/are based on personification of god in Mans image.!!!

I would like to point out that there are more branches of Theism than just Christianity. Personally, I believe that if there is indeed a hell, then just as many Christians as Atheists are going. Well, probably more; Atheists don't have an ancient hippie for their religious foundation.

Religious people like to make the argument that the chances of life evolving in the universe is so low that it couldn't have happened. This is wrong. It was inevitable that life would come into being. From the beginning the universe had everything it needed for life. Given enough time it had to happen. Its just where that is the problem.

Think of it like a baseball. You throw it randomly into the yard, what are the chances that it would land in a particular spot on the ground? Pretty low, but it would land somewhere. This is the concept of probability. This is how people win things like the lottery. The chances of them winning were low, but someone would win. This is pretty much how you were born too. What are the chances that your mom would meet your dad, fall in love, do the dirty, and the sperm cell that was you get to the egg first? Pretty damn low. But it it happened, didn't it?

Also, Christians think they were made out of mud. Who is the ridiculous one now?

i hate that 'atheism' is being classified as a religion itself now, there is nothing small-minded about believing in self-education and motivation. don't assume i have no grasp of philosophy just because i don't believe in a clearly non-existent deity.

if you are a true christian, you believe everything about jesus being the only way to heaven and everyone else going to hell. that's what you have to believe, the bible says it clearly. if you believe this, you have to understand that it means you are condemning everybody else ,including anyone who follows ANY other religion, to an eternity of torture. this makes you a mentally ill psychopath.

of course, if you don't condone this absolutely; you're just manipulating the fundamentals of your own religion to suit your personal needs and manufacturing your own belief system.

christian? prove it by condemning me and everyone else in the world that isn't a christian.

I have never heard anyone say that. They only call atheist fools for not accepting the bible as some kind of truth. Christians are note supposed to hate anyway. Then they are not following the teaching of Jesus, are they?
