New on board - Lurker bites the dust.

Hello fine folks,

I thought it was time to sign up instead of lurking for another couple of years - better late than never.

I don't have anything particularly thrilling to tell you about myself at the moment - I'm sure that will change though.

With regards to my interests: they are pretty eclectic but in particular I am interested in politics, US politics in particular even though I am from the UK.

Other boards of interest to me are the Ancient Civilizations and Paranormal areas.

I hope to attain the high standards of some illustrious members who have put together some excellent and informative threads over the years I have lurked here.

Something sort of struck me when you said that you like American Politics and that you are in the UK; my mind suddenly thought that you are into Ancient Politics, , seeing as how our system will collapse here shortly!

"Ancient Politics" hah! you are spot on there.

A got heavily into US politics and Constitutional law around 2006. The US has probably got one of the best constitutions but, unfortunately, don't seem to use it very much from what I can see - apart from good old Ron Paul.....

I used to alternate between the Graham Hancock board and here for my Ancient civilization fix. I noticed Scott Creighton has a sub forum here so that is what made me sign up here.

There are also some excellent well researched threads here which I could probably has some input in.

the unmentionable place, lol! Did feel a bit like a devil's lair at the end. And yes the gifs were a bit distracting - some of the more original ones were kind of funny, but they were all so overused. It got old fast. I like to think I have "outgrown" that palce. I will enjoy it here i can tell already!

I have wondered that very thing many times myself. On a planet billions of years old, and considering it only takes a fraction of that time for us to evolve, seems odd that we wouldnt have done it a few times by now!

Hello again - I had to get some sleep, much too late for me.

Nice surprise to see another flurry of welcomers when I signed in this afternoon.

Thanks to you all for the warmth of your greetings. I think I will be breaking myself into the forum gently so no super duper threads for a while. I hope to provide some constructive replies though.

Which brings me to one of my Interests: Faeries and the associated folklore.

I find the whole subject fascinating but there seems very little discussion on this subject. I must differentiate however, that my interest lies with Faerie mythology and not Fairy tales.

The Faerie mythology which seems to link them with going underground or into hills ties in with other mythologies and archaeology pertaining to ancient mounds and the link to ancient pre-civilizations.

I have a healthy skepticism with regards the paranormal - but as I said about the UFO subject my mind is open and have also had unexplained experiences that I would like to try and understand.

I have one foot firmly wedged in the Normal and one, equally so, lodged in the Paranormal.

To coin a phrase - The truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.
