Hi People,

I am new to your site. I have been reading posts on this site for 17 days and I am rather miffed at what I have been reading.

I am NO scientist, NO media insider or other stooge but I am life taught and I am very suspicious by nature. I do not see how some of the threads (at least 55%) are written by normal people who are not in some ways vying for attention and or laughs. I am also amazed at the censorship that I have seen take place this forum and how that is managed. I am rather suspicious of what this site or who this site is meant for and who "uses" it.

I know a lot of people are genuine and I have read some very intelligent replies to some ludicrous threads that do show me that a large portion of the people on here are here for learning and for opening the world up to what they believe are misdeeds. I took the time to read many, many threads on many of the topics available. 17 days worth may not seem like a lot but I am new to this site and I have been reading for around 8 hours per evening. Starting during Dinner and continuing well after 3am. Sounds sad to some but with recent news events not covering everything in the detail it deserves and all this stuff lately to do with "hackers" I felt compelled to look into a few things and try and keep one step ahead of the MSM. I do find that news hits ATS rather quickly and therefore staying in the loop really benefits me. But I digress.

What I am bothered about though is NOT the topic content so much as the existence of this site with relatively no government or authority intervention. No court cases registered by a government authority against the site parent company yet with all this apparent "cracking down" and the abuse of the Constitution ATS has escaped without a scratch. That to me is "amazing".

I do NOT want people preaching freedom of speech to me in defense of this as I can quite easily pull up countless threads of that exact abuse being highlighted on ATS. I do not want people to say that these type sites are being watched carefully as that to does not fly with me. After all, they quite easily "pulled" a few piracy sites for polling reasons not too long ago and too me the US government does not value a few Hollywood and Music moguls above the power of mass control and reputation destroying accusations that can be found on many threads on ATS (like the 9/11 forum). Plus now Google list ATS threads in searches quite well compared to 5 years ago. I did some research!

I have given this some deep thought and based on what I read on ATS I would of thought that this site is a prime example of anti-government rhetoric that the US government has spent billions killing, silencing and closing under some BS false pretense. It would not be hard for them to do. In fact it would be easy. Just hit the headlines with more talk of gun bans or have some other person almost killed by a sleeper agent and ATS would go down with not much more than a gurgle and spurt. So what keeps it so "mainstream" yet so protected? What allows for dissent to the point of direct accusation with little court approved backing yet skirts around without a swift stabbing to the kidneys every so often. Who, besides the readers and posters could gain from keeping this site up and running freely? As we know, no server is that strong or that protected that a mere child could not infiltrate. So why has the government not at least hired some "hack" to infiltrate the server and "release" all the IP addresses with emails etc, just to scare off people from joining. In fact ATS has had a boom as of late in its membership. Quite the opposite for a time when the Governments is so barbaric and heavy handed according actual to ATS threads. All this makes me think!!! And think hard!

So this leads me to my point and my curiosity. ATS is now the biggest conspiracy website on the NET. Conspiracy seems to be a nice umbrella word for anti-government, anti-war, anti-authority, anti...you get my point. So why is this site and other site like it (much smaller) left to go about business as usual. After all, last year the US and UK governments between then "pulled" 76 "fundamentalist" sites that they thought could cause promoted violence, extremism or something in between. Some of these sites were no more than Islamic people saying they deserve to be recognized in the west with more respect. They did not threaten violence or accuse the US government of being mass murderers, or the CIA of being behind Kennedy's Assassination, or call for Dick Cheney's "head on a plate" as one ATS user so nicely put it.

My next point is about the censoring on this site and how it seems some moderators (are they all human or are some computer generated? Genuine question) are using their personal feelings and hates in the censoring of topics or phrases and ratings!!

So, hi to all and I am hoping to learn something I may not already know. I am suspicious as I said and couple that with a deep seated mistrust of most things that claim one thing or another I am pleased to finally be here.

I do like to look into things very deeply as often the more layers you peel back the more things are uncovered. However, accusation is the lowest form of proof. Just because you say something does not make it fact.

Yes thank you. I though did happen to read that post yesterday and found it somewhat very interesting.

However, I am more akin to the thought that man has no real interest in serving anything other than himself. Therefore all these planned things are more than likely foiled by personal greed and power brokerage.

Welcome to ATS! Ironically enough, you will find many here are not "Conspiracy Theorists" at all.
Just good folks who like an interesting debate. There is a plethora of facts to been found here, as well
as hypothesis and speculation. Personally I find ATS to be one of the most informative and at the same time
entertaining sites on the web. You will find conspiracy topics that will make your head spin as well of course.

Stay Focused

Hello Butcher - new to the board myself.

I always find the title "Conspiracy Theorist" as a contentious title. It seems to have the same effect as calling someone a Kook when in reality pretty much any investigation begins with a theory followed by an accumulation of facts and evidence and Ta Da! one then has a Pukka Conspiracy.

'Tis a little disingenuous to use it as a phrase to discredit someone. I'm a proud theorist - but I make sure I get my facts right and I'm not naive enough to believe there are no conspiracies.

I'm babbling - good night.

Ahoy Mate!

1st... remember that this is just a discussion board... So unless something has a Link or evidence attatched to it, it's just someone's views and opinions... It seems to me that people like to come on here to have debates about obscure things... or just write a big rant to vent about something...

And that ties in nicely with your point about "The Fed" "Big Brother" "The Globalists" wanting to shut-down ATS... you see, they don't need to, because people like you come on here and think everything on here is a conspiracy "THEORY" when there are some decent facts mixed in with the crazyness......... But the point about ATS is that it creates a diversion from many important issues because ANYONE can post ANYTHING they want... and as we know there be alot of dumb people out there these days.... so the great posts get drowned out in nonsence. .... I'm sure the government laughs at this website.

What "they" are scared of (and should be) is The Alternative News Media ... Like The Drudge Report and Alex Jones/ Infowars... They really hit the major issues and are gaining viewers at a light-speed pace... unlike the "mainstream" media, that not only distracts from major issues, but blocks most out.

That is why the "government" or "globalists" or whatever you wants to call 'em is trying to shut down the internet.

But im ranting again, good luck Butch

Hmm. Thank you for your reply.

I am not really buying your post. Alex Jones is at best delusional and working for someone rather than himself (and not the people).

My main concern is this site as I am now a member for the time being.

I am suspicious as to the "use" of this site. But I have read the undying support from the members and for so called intelligent people they tend to all show the same symptoms of those who follow religion blindly.

haha ya religion is a good analogy for many posts on this site.

What problems do you have with Alex Jones, or The Drudge Report?

I always hear people "blindly" call him a dilusional conspiracy theorist, but never give me evidence with that.

In fact, it's ALWAYS Alex Jones bringin the FACTS...

I havn't been listening to him for long, about since the Osama story came out... but he keeps it real daily. and has some excellent documenteries free on youtube. His videos have quite a few views. He has rallies at the state capital; He seems like a pretty popular guy.

What's your problem?

Please, enlighten us with his flaws

Edit: A guy who's had a small radio show for 16 years talking about issues mainstream wouldn't? He's been working for them the whole time? Or did he sell out recently?

One of the most well expressed, well worded introductions I have read here.

I understand where you are coming from.

I think "Rumor Control" would have been a better name for this site.

Of course you must know this forum was implemented for "entertainment purposes"only.

I really doubt the 200K registered members and the thousands of lurkers of this site have anybody in the government worried.

It is fascinating to read the differing opinions and points of view(reality)that people have.

ATS is up and running 24/7 and has members from all over the globe creating threads and posting on the subjects presented.

The Mods have a difficult time keeping a modest amount of decorum in the forum.

They for the most part do a good job, some better than others.

Enjoy yourself here and am looking forward to see what your contributions will be.

Hi and thanks again.

I am just skeptical of Alex Jones. I put my hands up and say I offer no proof to my feeling he is not quite what he makes out.

Someone once said to me or too someone else possibly that the truth lies somewhere between the most outrageous and the least acknowledged.

So for me, Alex Jones is the most outrageous. I have tuned into his station a couple of times and he is rather expressive in his talk. I mean more like forceful. It reminds me of "hook hands" a Islamic preacher in the United Kingdom who would conduct sermons in a place called Finsbury Park for fellow Muslims. He was classed as an extremist for good reason but the similarities of his wording is rather apparent in Alex Jones Anti-government and doomsday approach.

I know that is not good scientific fact or hard evidence but every time I look into someone like Alex Jones walls seem to be erected, paper trails muddied and information contradictions are afoot.

Ah well, too each their own. Good evening to you!!

Thank you Sir for your words.

Being new to this site I am cautious to what I hear and see. But information is what I am after and I hear on the grape vine that ATS holds the key to something, somewhere in one of these threads.

I don't know how to find it, but when I do I hope I know.

The keyword is discernment followed by investigate (everything)

I always check everything and if, after a long investigative period. I find nothing to the contrary only then will I start to look at the information as being possibly true.
Being skeptical of all information is healthy in my opinion - but you have to be careful not to let that turn into cynicism which can be just as damaging as being too open minded.
Balance is the key.

Like I said, you haters bring no evidence.

1) Your living by this quote? : "Someone once said to me or too someone else possibly that the truth lies somewhere between the most outrageous and the least acknowledged." ... ok, no comment.

2) You don't like the tone of his voice? He's just a passionate Texan.

3) "Extremist" "Anti-government" "Doomsday approach"
- The people running the government NOW are the extremists. They just tell you thats what Alex is blindly, hoping you'll find an obscure reason to discredit that crazy conspiracy theorist.

- His views on the Federal Government and basically the same as Ron Paul's. Libertarian. Pro gun, Pro free market. Anti world police state. Anti illuminati globalist banksters.

- Doomsday approach. He really doesn't try to scare people. He always says think for yourself and check all the facts I give you. Basically what he does is read internet headlines that the mainstream media doesn't want to. Because they are controaled by said Bilderberg NWO Carbon Tax Elitists!

4) "I know that is not good scientific fact or hard evidence"

" but every time I look into someone like Alex Jones walls seem to be erected, paper trails muddied and information contradictions are afoot"

Good Sir, Where were these walls erected, What paper trails were muddied and what sort of information do you reckon he contradicted?

I still don't see evidence; and still Alex Jones is the one with the 3 hour radio show everyday that DOES provide evidence

Alex Jones Show > Ignorant Haters

Ok, ok, but what about the Drudge Report? You have to admit that something is going on with the mainstream media.... There's a reason why they block things out.

THEY ARE THE ONES "WORKING FOR SOMEONE BIGGER"

Evidence.

I don't understand what the big brouhahah! is with Alex Jones.

So many people attack the messenger and not the messge concerning AJ. (Ad Hominem)

I'm a British/Irish type human and can understand how folks can get wound up about the Jones. But, come on, you have to be honest and admit that everything he "states as fact" is - without exception -fact.

He blusters and rants, passionately about many things - however, after checking out all his outrageous claims I have yet to find anytthing which is unverifiable or un-documented.

Us folk on the right hand side of the pond are a little less bombastic in the presentation of our views and facts - but surely common sense dictates that fact is fact regardless of how it is presented.

Sounds like we have been conditioned by our masters to only accept information presented by smiley people - even though their smiles detract from the hood and fangs of a Cobra.

Summary - Don't shoot the messenger.

Thank you. Alex Jones is on 100 radio stations and has 200 million views on youtube.

And this guy with 10 posts on ATS thinks he can discredit him with no evidence whatsoever because he doesn't want to wake up to the fact that there are real problems in HIS world. This is his planet, dammit, and if he says Alex Jones is an Anti-Government, dilusional, cop hating, doomsday prophesying, conspiracy theorist, fear-mongering lunatic that "works for someone" ; but brings no proof

Then by God it's true!

FACTS son.

I Like the honesty in your signature Legitbrah

My signature says a lot of what I believe. This is relevant to the Alex Jones issue, I believe.

Without a doubt, considering the workload and sheer number of hours that AJ puts into his work, he proves his heart and soul is in his mission or business.
It would be so easy for Jones to go over to the dark side and make a whole shed full of money, like Beck, by becoming controlled opposition.
People may criticize his method and delivery of information - but his passion is unrelenting which is very hard to fake.
