If you live in the U.S. and are 17 years or older there is really no excuse not to know your social. I always balk the few times an adult has told me they cannot remember their number.

When I was 17 I didn't even have one. I only got one then to join the navy. If I could only go back and slap myself. I would not have gotten it.

Of course. When I was young my parents made me memorize it. I'm glad they did. Everyone should. We're all just a number right?
