ATS makes my mind explode

Hello ATS
We should all feel lucky to have a medium to express our ideas thoughts and feelings. I'm glad to be here sharing my thoughts and experiences with you all.
I think I have the solution to the decorum issue. As you all know we all have our bad days and were just waiting to blow off steam on something or someone.Some people do it here on others. Sometimes it's really funny sometimes it isn't. Sometimes its very cruel. Its unfortunate I know. So ATS this is my Idea what If ATS had two sections Decorum only and and decorum free, Imagine a place where you could vent you're opinion in you're own way blast someone for being stupid,tear a strip off someone for making a dumb comment. One of the rules would be if you dish it out you should be able to accept getting it back in return, with the very core rules of no swearing no hitting, no disrespecting someones race or religion. The swearing can be done in the traditional ways like we all do here now, you know what I mean swearing without actually spelling it.

So how would it be implemented here is what I think. All members should have a button in there post box a decorum button. If a person goes off topic or decorum degrades and if more than one person is offended by you're hissy fit you get transferred to ATS decorum free zone for you to express you're views in a New York road rage style tantrum! once there you can Invite the opponent to join you to continue you're ridiculous rant.You are placed there by more than one person pushing the button.A determined fine tuned number what ever is found to work.

Imagine how funny it would be to have two sections to come home to and read. One like reading a news paper and one like reading the Weekly World News written by road ragers.

Of coarse this will need some fine tuning.

I know of another site that does just that. A special forum for those that are fighting.

I kind of like the Road Ragers forum idea.

But when I see a post that makes my head explode, I do a set of excersise until I'm calmed down. Counting to ten ot hundred didn't always work.

And I'm getting back into shape nowadays.

Well I figured people like explosions.

There is a Rants forum that is for the express purpose of letting our members blow off a little steam. However, civility and decorum have long been a cornerstone of ATS and the rules apply equally to all forums.

Personally, I haven't read any of the debates, and don't even know if there has been any recent ones, but wouldn't the Debate Forum be similar to what you're describing?

You are correct, and it is specifically the reason why I became a member of ATS, civility and decorum. Lord knows I need it after so many years in the Military where almost anything goes. Crude language and behaviour is commonplace, and I have been guilty of it as well. I have to change now that I am no longer part of that community.

Thinking back on it…the Road rage forum would probably take up to much space on the server.

And to be truthful, let’s be honest. It would not be helping me at all. There is a selfishness to my being here.

I’ve been spanked by the Mods once before. After that, I try to stay within the guidelines. I like good open debate.

They have a place. It's called rant. You just have to replce curse words with actual language.

Ask yourself, how many times do you use the F-bomb or other foul language, just as filler, day to day. To get your point across and how you feel about a particular subject?

Or taking the high road and eloquently putting your adversary in his/her place?

Think about it. I’m guilty as well. Sometimes it take others to point out our failings. But whether we will listen is up to us.

There are other sites out on the net that cater to that very whim. ATS is not one of them -- and that is precisely why this site stands out above others. We don't allow the bashing of other members.

Don't get me wrong I love ATS for its decorum and respect it to the best of my ability. But lets face it we will always have the problem of decorum issues.

I just felt like expressing my humors point of view and maybe make someone laugh,we all know we could use it.
