Libya: The Latest Product in Canada's Ugly War Assembly Line

NATO members, including Canada, are continuing their massive bombing campaign against Libya in a war that may just break the record for the casual breaking of international law, and for lying about the motives for the war.

There is no mandate to engage in "regime change," yet everyone, including the Harper government, openly admits that that is, in fact, what they are doing. Canada has stated that only the removal of Gaddafi will satisfy NATO. Not the United Nations -- which gave a mandate to protect civilians from the Libyan government's attacks -- but NATO, that alliance whose mandate is supposed to be the mutual self defence of nations of the north Atlantic.

Everyday, I wake up, check the news and see how disgusting of a society we live in! The war in Libya (and the soon to be war in Syria) is ILLEGAL! #$#@$@ GRRR

This article is a good read, whether your are Canadian or not... It's a perfect example of how TPTB are lying and using doublethink to convince the people that they are doing the right thing! From the OP, Canadians are against the war (yes, it is a WAR, not a kinetic miltiary acrtion or Humanitarian operation!) by a margin of 2- 1 in Globe and Mail poll... YET the media and Harper go on about how Gadafi must be ousted... yet WE (Canadians, Americans, ANY country involved with NATO and the UN) are all commiting the same if not worse atrocities within Libya!! We have killed civilians, and pass it off as if it is a common occurence! Now, when people hear that, they don;t even think twice! What if it was a member of YOUR family, killed by a NATO bomb? It doesn;t matter to the majority of North Americans because the conflict is so far away and the media presents it in such a way that it seems ok... they give more time about the stupid royal couple coming to visit our country rather than the people being killed by our Humanitarian mission! When will we wake up?! What has to happen for people to realize they are being lied to? IMO, something has to give at some point...And i hope it happens before Syria gets invaded by NATO/UN/NWO forces!

Canadians! Americans! NATO/UN members! WE ALL have blood on our hands! YOUR money goes to killing innocents! YOUR money goes to stealing oil and gold from the Libyan people! YOUR money is being used by the NWO and TPTB to ensure THEIR future, not yours!!

Wake up? It won't happen til he battle ground is on western soil. Rioting all over the globe in the name of justice, and then you get a buncha kids rioting in vancouver over a game played by supposed superstars of society. Nobody will wake up until we grow tf up. Til then, as Carlin puts it, "let's bomb the brown people"

any war meant to protect the innocent ,non combatant's is illegal immoral and for bidden, all out war is legit. No one is safe you see one in your sights, pull the trigger even if it is a friendly; Should not be in front of gun, if your are then you are a target. We had the right idea in Nam, you ran you where enemy if you did not run you where a dead enemy, or one easy to shoot.Friendly fire =pop control.

Would you not want help if you where out gunned out numbered and not willing to kill nor wanting to be killed ??? just asking.

I don't agree with any war... And i see your point of wanting help from a dictatorial regime.. My point and anger stems from the fact that the UN and NATO pick and choose WHO they will help and police, depending on teh resources that are available to pillage! at least IMO... IF the UN was actually there to help the world population, then there would be sanctions imposed on Israel for their treatment of Palestine... Yet, where is the mandated No-fly zone? Where are the UN troops to protect them? IF the UN was actually there to help, why wasn't there a no-fly zone imposed in Bahrain? Where were the troops? Its all a game, and people around the world are pawns for the Military industrial complex, that seems to have spread out of the US and infiltrated many other countries, including mine!

yes and the UN would enforce it's rules with live ammo not just blanks or no ammo, what silliness is that going in to war combat zone and they can not enforce peace, nor defend them selves but yet when we bail them out we are the bad guy,something is very wrong with this. Give the UN the power to do whta they are to do or dissolve it .

Will it be foreign troops landing on North American beaches, or will it start with conscious rebels from within?

As for Canada's role in Libya... Well, we seem to be making a lot of profit from selling munitions to NATO.
