While being an interesting fact, are people really going to hold this incident against her. She should'nt be condemned for something that happened in her youth, we've all #ed up a time or two or twenty. If you want to smear her nose in something, it should be for marrying a common known half-whit. Now thats something to talk about.

I'm surprised it was not mentioned anywhere in this thread that the boy Laura killed had been her boyfriend. By the time of the accident they had broken up and he was dating a friend of hers.

And, for the sake of anyone who shares my black sense of humour, the car she was driving at the time was an Impala.

That has to be the WORST article I have ever read from CBS.

The loaded language is incredible.

The negative Laura language - speeding blithely ... didn't see anything ... she slammed hard ... caused an 'explosive beginning' to unending nightmares.

The positive Michael Douglas language - Golden boy ... track star ...

No mention of the fact that it was her boyfriend who died and that she was broken hearted.

Lovely reporting
