Instead of the quips and of playing to the crowd, why don't you go back and read exactly what I wrote, and this goes for everyone looking to play the crowd. Lets break the perpetual ATS cycle of mudslinging and talk about this.

For the record I am saying that anyone over the age of 40 should be sterilized including that of people who play the system and use their children to gain houses and benefits I am also saying that all convicts convicted of their crimes including rapists should be sterilized, I am saying that assisted suicide should be legalised in every country.

Now in YOUR OWN OPINION whats wrong with that ?

Ok, I'll play.

Will those who have the unfortunate accident of living to the ripe old age of 40 be financially compensated? Or will it just be like Logan’s Run. Time to go to carousel! Don't run from the Sandman.

And how will the families of those who take up the offer of assisted suicide be compensated? Insurance? Or do they just get grief counseling.

Rapists, Murders and Pedos I can see being spayed and neutered. But everyone? That's going to get quite expensive.

And how do your prove the the system is being played? The courts are already overwhelmed as it is. That'll ring up quite the bill as well.

Nice rant...make sense and seems to speak the same thing I have been wondering now for awhile.

The title threw me and I thought I was going to have to make a list about what is wrong with me...that would have kept me typing for awhile for sure!

A nice disorganized list about what is wrong with me...and if I use the views of the world I very well could just leave the list open and keep adding things almost daily.

Anyway good rant...nice to hear someone say what is a common thought!

S & F my friend...thanks!

In another ten years they will remember their ignorant cruel take on human beings and cringe. Let's hope. In the meantime, we will have to put up with the immature, narcisstic unintelligent assertions that they know what's best for everybody.

You are young, my son, and as the years go by, time will change and over reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore a while from setting yourself up as a Judge of the highest matters.

Makes you wonder..who should be put down if it came to that ...the poor the old ..or perhaps the youth so they wont be a burden ? Pitiful ! When I was young I thought all the things my Dad told me about how to live was bull, but the older I got the smarter he became. Looking back I wish I had followed his advice .

You and I can ...agree to disagree....your type of thinking reminds me of the times in history of Adolf Hitler and his henchmen. I will pray for you...take care.

Hide, woodys gone mad!

In all seriousness though, I agree entirely with everything you said, not much more to say really.

It's also probably the most caring "rant" I've ever seen, S+F

Yes, because the rate of wrongful convictions for rape in this country is so low. Totally agree.

And who fits the bill? good old fashioned innocent tax payers. Nope we need to get tough and start clearing the way for a better world. Those who have kids to get their houses or those that live off of the system need be treated like animals and in some cases put down as such, also we need to get tough on the convicts, a stint in jail is like going to candy shop nowadays. Respect for your fellow neighbours has all been lost in the murky waters of human rights and free speech. We need control and order before its too late.

On a side note what right do we have have denying people the rights to assisted suicide.

I assume you've never been to jail if you think that. Seriously, if having a microwave and some books to read is considered Valhalla by your standards then you must be living in a box.

Please think about this for a second. The old people as you call us, are the ones who have been paying into the system in the form of payroll, social security and property taxes for 30- 40 years or more, and are now told that they are expendable by people like you who want to "clean house". How long have you been at your job? How much have you paid in? The people YOU are discrediting have worked hard their whole life, and each paid thousands of dollars into the "system". Do YOU believe what you are being told now by the govt? We did too. They even put our benefits into writing because we didn't have the internet! We wanted to pay our way just like you, AND DID!! Now that it's OUR turn to get the benefits that WE HAVE PAID FOR and were told that we would get , we're told we are worthless and a dredge on society. Your answer is that we all be terminated to correct the financial problems.

Perhaps a better solution would be to sterilize all young people when they register for the military, until they are in an economic bracket to afford a family, are paying payroll, social security, property taxes and have been employed for at least 10 years and are covering private insurance costs like we do. There are far too many young people who are having a slew of kids and cutting into OUR benefits! It won't be that long before you guys are 40! By the way, what goes around comes around !!

Everything you mentioned is normal thinking for Fabian Socialists and Progressives. Obama has surrounded himself with people that think just like this (i.e.John Holdren, Cass Sunstein) Unfortunately advocating for the sterilization of the poor and the euthanasia of the old is more mainstream than you might think.

Look at Margaret Sanger... she wanted to sterilize all black people which is why she invented birth control and founded Planned Parenthood. Hilary Clinton is on record saying that she looks up to Sanger and that Sanger is a hero of hers. You can probably find that video on YouTube. This is just one of many examples.

I have to agree with the OP.
How many young people on here, have taken the time to speak to a grandparent/elderly person? Half of the topics on this site, regarding survival, gardening, and other skills, you could learn in a day by asking and taking notes.
Not to mention the history!
"Saving Private Ryan?" My grandfather was there, and I am so thankful that we have him on video talking about it for at least 3 hours.

Listening to my grandmother describe hitchhiking in Alaska with "Hippies?" Had me in tears laughing.

Never forget what a valuable resource an older person is!!!!!

If we lived in a resources based economy world, instead of an inflation corporate world, paying for the elderly would have never been a financial problem.

I tend to agree that, since people will probably live longer and longer, it's hard to see how a balance can be made if people only work for 40 years out of their 80 year life. Inflation ruins everything about this.

And because of inflation those thousands of dollars are worth hundreds today. It's really sad.

People think they can give it out but not be met with the same treatment they gave to someone else. Yeah it sounds like a great idea to hash on the poor and the elderly but the problem is you don't know when the hand you dealt them will be around your neck.

My Mom died at 89 years old...and she was still working in a local restaurant as one of the cooks. One day she was alive , happy and doing everything anyone else can do. The next day she had a stroke and lived 3 mos after that. Shocked all of us, because she was so active. I really miss her.
She was still paying taxes into the System at that age and I am sure many other elderly are too...including myself. I am not a spring chicken either..

valid rant, woodwardjnr. many people suck and it gets tiring rather quickly. there seems to be an inverse proportion thing, where the younger, less mature and less experienced a person is, the less many of those persons have a clue how very important life experience, maturity, wisdom and age can be.

i once heard a comedian rant about how people under the age of 35 don't know WTF they are talking about, and that they should shut the hell up, enjoy their drink and just look pretty.

i've learned life is short and it takes time to catch on to some things. too bad there are so many in power doing so much to bamboozle the bulk of us from day one. much of society is retarded by oppressive forces who learned to control lifes little obstacles a long time ago.

also it would take the older drivers off the road and cut the amount of deaths caused by old people who insist on driving even though they clearly aren't up to it

If thats your logic for supporting euthanasia then surely you support the same for the young first time drivers who cause accidents. How about those who text behind the wheel? What about tailgators? If we euthanize them it will get them off of the road and reduce accidents. Perhaps stricter licensing standards would be a little more reasonable? Old people are a liability? So at what age does society get to view you as a liability? The elderly have a lot to teach us. Sure some of them are stubborn old coots but they can impart a lot of wisdom on the young.

Sterilization should be mandatory to everyone over the age of 40

And what exactly is your reasoning behind this? What about people who make a conscious decision to not have kids until later in life in order to be prepared financially or emotionally? What if someone doesn't meet the right person until 45. Will we have waivers for these people? Who gets to decide?

anyone caught fiddling the system

What is your definition of fiddling the system? Does a first time offender get sterilized? How about a political dissident? So mistakes in life will be met with sterilization?

all prisoners found guilty of their crime(s) especially rapists.

And what exactly do you think sterilization will do to a rapist? Keep him from raping again? Although rape is close to the lowest crime you can commit I think we can think of better punishments then sterilization. How about more time in prison? Instead of less time then some drug offenders.

This world is overpopulated as it is and we need to maintain a healthy balance.

We could be considered slightly overpopulated but the answer is not sterilization and euthanasia. How about better use of technology? Sustainable farming practices? Sustainable energy? The earth can easily support our population if we make use of science and our technology.

I am pro sterilization and euthanasia

Clearly. Although I am not sure that you know why.

I think that is very shallow thinking. I am 40+ and my husband and I both work. If I wanted to have another baby this year who are you to say I couldnt?? You dont support me or my kids.

As for sterilizing prisoners? Do you realize our justice system is so screwed up that there are people freed from prison in the US every day after being there for years due to DNA evidence ? How wrong would that be??

As for euthanizing elderly people? Shame on you. Shame shame shame on you. Spend some time in a nursing home or a veterans home and talk to the elderly people you are dismissing. It is amazing how much knowledge they have to offer and how much you can learn from them.
