I'm surprised nobody saw the obvious conspiracy angle to this whole story;
The guy who painted the line was probably some high ranking politician's deadbeat son who couldn't get a job in the real world to save his life.
He shows up to work drunk, high or both (as usual) and gets assigned to paint new lines down the street. Being stoned out of his mind, he drives all
over the road and paints those stupid looking lines. It becomes perfectly obvious that they can't cover up his stupidity this time with the permanent
record all over the road. Oh course, nobody wants to take responsibility for firing the Senator's son so they come up with a brilliant plan to cover
it all up; we'll say it was done intentionally as a um..."traffic calming" measure. Yeah, that's the ticket.
They even go so far as to create the phony traffic calming website to make the whole thing look legit. The site even offers to sell the official US
"traffic calming" handbook, knowing nobody in the real world is gonna shell out $150.00 to pay for something that stupid.
Now that they have a perfectly reasonable explanation for the Senator's son's stupid road painting, they can go back to the business of fleecing the
taxpayers and collecting their graft money just like nothing ever happened.
See, it all has a perfectly rational explanation.
