Air Marshal dress code is crap

A dress code??? WTF! This is stupid.

Yes, I saw this in the news reciently. I just doesnt make sense why you would make an Air Marshall (Someone who must work covertly) wear specific attire. Business today has naturally progressed to more of a casual attire and those guys should be able to wear what ever the hell they want! If I were planning on taking a plane over alls you have to look for are the suits. Then you can even go further and see who's clothes are more wrinkled, because they have been on planes back and forth all day. Not very smart if you ask me.

Its always a possibility but if that is the case, it won't take very long to be exposed.

Perhaps it is disinfo., but I can believe that there would be rules regarding dress for air marshalls. Why do most FBI field agents wear suits?

Of course it's disinfo! You don't see them talking about the dress code for any other branch of the gov't.

At least they'll look better than most of the passengers.

I don't know, I usually wore a suit when I flew...you simply get treated better...(and you're more likely to get bumped up to first class with certain frequent flier programs, though they won't tell you that, hehe...)

Exactly my point...they don't have dress codes for undercover ops, which is why when they release info on a dress code for an air marshall (which is an undercover ops position) it must be meant to mislead.

I agree. Disinfo makes the most sense. While the hijackers single out the suits, the air marshals are pulling their triggers.

THe gov't is just keepin the terrorist guessing now. Especially know that they see two agents being pulled off. BUt i guarentee you that their was two more agents on the plane. Think about it if they believe it is disinfo they wont target suits.

Even if they kill the agent gues what the civilians will kick that terrorist ass really quickly

I wish I could agree with most of the posters on a disinformation campaign. The government is filled with rules and regulations and when it applies to dress codes they are very strict. Image is the key issue and nothing else.
Wether like it or not the air marshals are probably quite visible to the casual observer.
