Canada doesn’t have power. The United States does. "With great power comes great responsibility"- Uncle Ben
Without the United States, Canada would be speaking German. So the fact that the US puts its self in harms way to help others, has benefited the whole world. Including you. So, you may mock the United States, just like a spoiled brat mocks his/her parents, but secretly is appreciative of the food in his/her stomach, and the roof over her/his head. So next time, a simple thank you or job well done will do just fine.

Just the opposite. Mindsets like yours are dangerous. You think the goverment hasnt seized money from people before? Read before speaking.

Mindsets like MINE? I think YOU should read before speaking. I'll thank you to point out to me where I have suggested anywhere in this thread that the government doesn't seize money. You have me confused with someone else.

Your Optomistic view on how the people in charge that need us. They dont. Here is your quote in case you forgot what you wrote 5 minutes ago. Wouldnt be suprised.

"If we are not allowed to use gasoline for our cars and are restricted from public highways, we cannot do the things that generate profit for those in power. If they didn't need us, they could've gotten rid of us long ago. Certainly fear like yours benefits them, but the truth is, they need to keep most of us around so they can continue to live their extravagant lifestyles. "

Im done with this off topic. Have a great day. And remember, a mind is a terriable thing to waste.

There are plenty of countries in the world don't have the power that the U.S. does, but that doesn't deter them from using force and fear to try to take what they want and conquer others, even with the threat of intervention by the U.S.

Even though what you say about the U.S. putting itself in harms way to benefit others has been true a number of times throughout history, the member you're replying to has a point about Canada.

I personally emailed the local news station's top reporter and urged him to get the nuclear reactor info on air.
Nothing, not even a response.

You are very short-sighted and you have a bad attitude.

How do you think the people in power make money? Are you trying to substantiate your argument by suggesting that they can just seize our money to maintain their own lifestyles and that this is justification for why we should believe they could survive without us? If so, then I guess my next questions for you are:

What money? Have you been paying attention? People are having trouble surviving because we are in an ECONOMIC CRISIS. Millions of people no longer own homes and/or are unemployed.

How long do you think this "seized money" will last TPTB? Where in the world do you think they got their wealth in the first place? They got it of the backs of the working people!

But, hey, if you wanna believe TPTB in our countries are gonna shut down the roads, deny us gas, and keep us from traveling to the places we go to make or spend our money and that we're gonna be confined to our homes or some nonsense like that, then that's you're choice.

Interesting that you can envision that scenario, but you think someone else who believes there will be mass extinctions of sea life because of contaminated oceans is being unrealistic.

Money is a symbol, used only as a promise that the work it represents will be done.

Elitists understand that, and brag to one another about how many people they hold sway over.

For all the fantastical claims made about them, they seem to realize that the middle class are 'useful idiots', and will strive to maintain the status quo as long as humanly possible.

So, keep your car, fill it up and get to that menial, 32 hour a week job.

Many good postings here and I agree that the axe is falling so fast from so many angles of existence that we're being intentionally kept in the dark in order to make sure that the outcome is unchangeable.

The powers-that-be are diverse and global and are masters of manipulation. Case in point: - just look at all the partisan sheeple who STILL believe that their beloved Democrats or Republicans should rule gov't (as each have done over the last decade) to help solve our problems when these souless, pathetic, treasonous scumbags have equally sealed our fate.

Reminds me of the prophecies from ancient cultures; whether prophecy is being fulfilled or this all is self-fulfilling prophecy we may never know - it plain SUCKS!

The middle class have been rewarded for buying lies. The lower classes are too busy trying to scam and climb to pay attention to the lies. Even when a better way, IMHO, is suggested to the lower class, they adamantly defend their right to rise to the top to take advantage of people like they have taken advantage of. It's like the freshmen looking forward to being seniors so they can then dish out the torture and receive some satisfaction. The upper class perpetuates the lies because it benefits them. The lies are perpetuated by an unpaid army of the willing.

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years... It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."

For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as "internationalists" and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.

Do you really think the government thinks about that?
The current administration hasn’t addressed any of the government’s failures nor do they care
Social security: Failing
Medicare: Failing
Medicade: Failing
Post Office: Failing
Welfare: Failing

I could list more but it would take all day. Government run programs are poor, it doesn’t want to fix them, and runs them into the ground. What part of your government do you think has so much common sense as to fix all the problems? Have they yet? Nope. They just increased the deficit by 7 trillion dollars.

Again, I will repeat myself for the 14th or so time, pick up a book, study history, you will see governments have taken money right out of the pockets of their citizens (right out of their bank accounts). Soviet Union, China, France, Germany, etc. With no regard to what will happen in the future. You don’t obtain a 10 trillion dollar deficit by worrying about the future. Just ask Obama. He wouldn’t care if he ran this country to 20 trillion dollars in debt.

Why do you think the DODD FRANK Certificate was put into effect by two of the most liberal democrats on Capitol Hill? This will make trading of gold and silver illegal. They don’t want you to have money out side of banks, so that when the time comes, they will have access.

And another point, anytime the Government makes money, prints it off to pay bills. Like our current administration did with the "stimulus package" and many other of their programs. Your money decreases in value, in part, it is the same as them stealing from you whenever they make an extra dollar to pay their bills.
Again, I realize I’m not speaking to someone with a tremendous amount of education or experience when it comes to economics, history, and civics, but when you start to study these subjects, you too will become well versed in what policies work, and what policies do not.
Next time your respond, please do so with just a little bit of intelligence. Thanks.

When, through the process of law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of the government applied to a central power of imperial wealth under the control of the leading financiers.

Are you sure you're debating with the right person, because nothing you have presented here has anything to do with what I said earlier. I am quite aware the government has sought to strip us of any wealth. What I've said to you is that they need us to make profit. To restrict us by seizing all our money or refusing us gas or highway access, they would be biting the hand that feeds them. Do you really not see that? How does it benefit them to keep us restricted in this manner where we are unable to generate profit for them?

Aside from that, this mess of an argument that you are trying to present has all the ear markings of political party biased, which I have no desire to indulge you in for the purposes of this discussion.

True enough but this is one scenario out of many when the day comes that martial law will be put into effect. I suppose depending on how outrageous the rioting is and the opposition will determine just how far they are willing to go. At that point the total economy will have caught up with the collapse.

So again, I'm sure there are many scenarious that can be selected from depending on what that opposition will look like.

There is alot to soak up in that article, most of us here on ATS knew about some of the events. However the NASA prepareness emergency, the no fly zones, and cracks in the earth are most concerning to me. Is the earth indeed heading towards a direction of serious change? Why the No Fly zones? what is in those cities and communities, and better yet what could be flying in there airspace instead of commercial planes? Cracks in the earth huh....well I dont know about the rest of you but usually when something begins to crack its considered broken and thrown in the trash.

Of course not, deflect deflect deflect. As long as you dont have to answer for your statements. This is why I dont get into discussions, most of the time the other person can keep up with me. Bye Bye
