Considering the Equalities Watchdog has consistently been taken to tribunal for discrimination against it's own staff I can not take what they say seriously.

The government's equalities watchdog, set up to promote human rights and tackle discrimination, has been the subject of 15 employment tribunals in which it has been accused of sexism, racism and discriminating against pregnant women, according to the latest figures.

There are Radical Extremists in all religions and it is unfair and dishonest to generalise a whole religion as being "militant". Unfortunately for Islam, the percentage does seem to be higher than other groups though.

I will only get involved with this because of my experience on both sides.

Religion is the enemy.

Christians lack the courage to blow up people who are innocent in the name of god

Any one who blows up people in the name of god is a coward and mislead.

Who committed genocide on the American Indians?

Who committed genocide on Australian Aboriginals?

Who burnt witches at the stake?

Who invaded lands and murdered thousands and thousands and thousands of innocent people in the name of Christianity?

Who still invades and kills innocent people by the thousands in the name of christianity?

Think very carefully before you post on this topic.....

AHHH YES I knew you were going to pull the "West is a christian nation so they are christians bombing them"

Good good, well first of all........the west is a melting pot, much like the UK , we have all kinds of religions in our military.....so you cant blame that on them being "christian"

That is the weakest argument you can have in defense of them.....

And if you are going to go that direction.........and say they are retaliating, exactly who are they retaliating against when they are blowing up innocent people in their own cities hmmmmmm????

and NOW youre going to put words in my mouth.........I never said all muslims are terrorist......YOU put those words in my mouth........

You are dismissed

Yes they may be some bigoted people who hate every muslim, but those are a huge exception. But current political corectness culture paints ALL people who dare to criticize muslim extremism (not moderate islam) as racists and islamophobes, even when the critique is clearly justified, and is only against extremism, not moderate muslim religion. Hell, they accuse people of racism or islamophobia even when someone speaks out against fundamentalist muslims opressing liberal muslims, which is ridiculous, since the victims are muslims.

If has gone so far that people and police are afraid to protect moderate muslims against fundamentalist extremist muslims due to islamophobia and racism charges.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Victims say that officers in the borough of Tower Hamlets have ignored or downplayed outbreaks of hate crime, and suppressed evidence implicating Muslims in them, because they fear being accused of racism.

Peter Tatchell, the gay human rights campaigner, said: “The police said no-one was allowed to talk publicly about this because they didn’t want to upset the Muslim community. We’ve made very clear the difference between the Muslim community as a whole and these particular fundamentalists, and the fact that the police wouldn’t publicly say what they knew was an absolute disgrace.”

The mosque is controlled by a fundamentalist group, the Islamic Forum of Europe, which says that it is dedicated to changing the “very infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political order and its creed ... from ignorance to Islam.”

The IFE’s community affairs co-ordinator, Azad Ali, is chairman of the Muslim Safety Forum, an organisation officially recognised by the Met as its “principal [liaison] body in relation to Muslim community safety.” Mr Golds said: “This relationship may explain the police’s feebleness.” The IFE also has close links to the Tower Hamlets mayor, Mr Rahman.

To say all those things were done in the name of Christianity is incorrect and intellectually dishonest.

As a Political Ideology, Islam is FAR more dangerous than Christianity could ever hope to be in modern times.

Oh, I get it, so now military actions of nations with various religious backgrounds, like the current one against Libya, is considered "Christian Terrorism". You know you're grasping for straws when you make this kind of pathetic comparison. Can you actually give me one case in the last 5, 10 or 20 years where a Christian comitted a terrorist act against a civilian target or targets? I know there was a guy back in the mid 90's in the U.S. that tried to blow up an abortion clinic or two, but it's a far cry from the current 17,344 terrorist acts that have been comitted in the name of islam since September 11th 2001.

Nice try with your little pathetic attempt with the race card though, but I expected about as much from someone who can't tell the difference between a direct deliberate terrorist act against a civilian population in the name of islam compared to collateral civilian casualties during wartime.

but the fact is that there have been a large number of terrorist attacks in the name of Islam and I strongly doubt you can show me an equally long list of terrorist attacks and killings in the name of Christianity, but hey, I suppose denying such a problem exists is easier if that's what you want to believe.

Umm, try Iraq,Afghanistan,Yemen and next probably Pakistan or Iran..

A pity you answer selectively, but it doesn't surprise me.
When you talk about Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan and Iran, do you mean this?

Pakistan:
Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan 'for blasphemy'

Afghanistan:
Afghan on trial for Christianity

Iran:
Diplomats Concerned About Killing of Iranian Pastor

Iraq:
Christians, targeted and suffering, flee Iraq

Yemen:
US missionaries murdered in Yemen

Please, provide me some reports of Christians killings Muslims in these respective countries for their religious beliefs.

Please, leave the "what christians did a 1000 years ago" argument at the door. It's used far to often and does not give credibility to your argument. We are talking about the modern age and modern day society, not what some Spanish Conquistador did in South America ages ago. I don't judge either religion for what they might have done ages ago during religious wars; both religions are responsible for some pretty barbaric garbage back in the dark ages. However, this is 2011 and I hold mankind at a much higher standard than I do a bunch of uneducated ancient relgious warriors of the past.

Please edit your thread title to correctly reflect the article - ATS T&C.

The headline CORRECTLY reads:

'Intolerant' Christians are more militant than Muslims

Intolerance in any group = fanaticism and again in ANY group fanatics most usually goes way down the wrong way path.

peace

Pity you, I mean this.

Mankind has not changed , only become more savy in evasive tactics.

You deny your genes and your heritage?... cough....

Up until 30 years ago there was a bounty on Aboriginals....

Like I said , educate yourself before you comment , or you will be humiliated in this discussion.

The other posters are right......actions taken thousands of years ago do not justify today........

Any one who blows up people in the name of god is a coward and mislead.

First you say Christians are cowards for not blowing people up, then you say people that blow up other people are cowards? Let us know here: do you want Christians to gain the courage to blow people up, or do you want Christians to be cowards and blow people up? Either way, it looks like you want them to blow people up. See, I can do circular reasoning, too.

Who committed genocide on the American Indians?

Well, it started with the American Indians, moved on to the Spanish, traveled to the English, shot left to the French, and took a nosedive to the Dutch.

Who committed genocide on Australian Aboriginals?

Prisoners at the penal colony?

Who burnt witches at the stake?

Ignorant idiots.

Who invaded lands and murdered thousands and thousands and thousands of innocent people in the name of Christianity?

Greedy, powerful idiots.

Who still invades and kills innocent people by the thousands in the name of christianity?

Nobody in the last hundred years or so. Only one major religious group, in the last 50 years, has committed atrocities on a large scale in the name of their God.

Think very carefully before you post on this topic.....

One could ask the same of you.
