If Syria starts with Israel again it would be one of the dumbest moves ever and would SURELY bring us closer to WW3. Sure, it might start off regional but very quickly things will get out of hand.

And i've been following Russia's world relations for the past 20 years and they do this in many conflicts. They huff and puff but that's about it. Russia is in absolutely no position to go to war unless they just plan on firing their nukes off.

Russia's military is nowhere near capable of a sustained conflict and they neither have the money or the desire to switch over to full military production to start a war with NATO so they can draw as many lines in the sand as they want but it doesn't mean anything.

This is much bigger than simply Russia though, Syria is Iran's closest ally, and the have a defense pact with each other. Iran and Russia will back Syria, and those three nations have enough firepower to sustain long wars, make no mistake

It's unsurprising. Russia had some interests in Libya. They cherry pick. Very opportunistic of them.

Didn't Russia get mad at us putting missiles in Poland so they put Iskander Missiles in Syria?

Israel probably didn't like that. Which means we will be the ones getting them out of there.
