Jetson's Style Shopping

Found a cool article on new technology for shopping Tell me what you think... Would you use it?

It sounds terrifying to me - too much like a combination of control and "Big Brother"!

But I've never been an early adopter of new technology in any case.Probably to do with caution & my usual paranoia. And the idea of being led around by a shopping cart does NOT appeal to me.

Especially if they never sort out those damn wonkey wheels!!!! You'd be there all day!!

I don't think I would use it, and I'm a gadget freak.

Just doesn't appeal to me. I like going to the grocery store and buying something different each time.

One day I might want alot of fruit and veggies, and the next I might want nothing but Oreos and Doritos....

And I smell a conspiracy, although I didn't really want to say this.

The major supermart chains here [Woolworths & Coles] have already started reducung the number of products "ranged" in the interests of cost-cutting & efficiency. Mind you, companies have to pay many 1000's of $$ to have their products "placed" on the shelves of these chains. And small shops are closing at a great rate of knots - they can't compete with the big guys of retail.

So my choices are already being limited more & more. This "Jetson-style" shopping's aimed at the corporations, not at the customer. But it's gonna happen nevertheless. Damn.

Meh. I can just order groceries online!

So do I. But over the last year, the range of products I can buy has noticeably diminished. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya!
