the ultimate knowledge needs only on line to be written down; i am adding small talks & empty lines to fit terms & conditions but it could/should be a one liner otherwise, for clarity and impact.

it is the most important knowledge one can gather in a lifetime.

it is the knowledge we lose or never acquire by watching tv, reading newspapers, spending too much time on facebook, ats, google and wherever it is leading us to.

...drum rolls...

I know nothing

corollary : no one (especially on ATS) knows more than that

if you don't understand what this is about you'd better switch off your computer, your TV, your radio, burn your newspapers, put your books in the ceiling.

And start focusing on taking deeply inside all of your inspirations. Start focusing on BEING ALIVE.

please never forget again next time you post something on the web

nb:this is addressed to me as much as to you

thank you for reading

with love

Mika

Socrates said something similar to that. When asked if he was a wise man he replied yes because he is wise enough to know that he knows very little.

something along those lines. I always remembered that from philosophy for some reason.

oregonstate.edu..." target="_blank" class="postlink">oregonstate.edu... ophers/Socrates/socrates02.html

My mom used to tell me:
There are millions of 'Know-it-alls" and if you just sit back and let them tell you everything they know, you will be smarter then them.. But never try teaching a "Know-it-all" because you will be wasting your breath

This might be the greatest thing I've ever heard. It should be the second tagline for ATS. I'm going to ponder on this for a few days...

If you are ever arrested under he Patriot Act try that line out
"I know nothing"

Your life will quickly become a living nightmare.

Just a heads up.

Better to be a "know-it-all" sometimes!!

Well

Thanks mikey!

But I hardly think a few words and great gaps will help my knowledge.

See I'm fat and old.

Pretty much done learning other than what I need to fly by the seat of my pants.
Good luck though.

i was hoping the punchline would be "i know nothing"

im so glad it was.

thank you op

as i like to say

death is the only promise to life, the rest is pure speculation, so the safest bet is knowing nothing.

the nothingness concept of buddism applies here

and a little healthy dose of nihilism also never hurt anyone

but dont take it from me! what do i know? i know nothing!

great thread and thank you, for nothing.

p.s. people have to enjoy the monthy pyton style of humor to get a grasp at this.

A young warrior thinks he knows all. A master understands He knows Nothing..
My Dad use to say everyday you learn something you are alive.. The day you learn nothing, Is the day you die.. He used to say it in jest, cus as you die you learn of it. And of course all things that follow..

I mean yes this true in many ways. We pretend to know everything but the truth is that all of humanities knowledge is so vast that one single individual cannot know everything or even anything close to something. But you have to also understand that term of knowing is not just remembering something. We remember information based on our own personal way of remembering it. So you may know nothing about the universe but you can be happy by simply knowing yourself. I hope this made sense.

I know nothing

And how do you *KNOW* that?

Honestly... other than that, I don't feel that any other response to your statement is really worth my time.
edit on 15-6-2011 by ErtaiNaGia because: This thread is kinda sad, actually.

Oh, I just thought of a BETTER response, actually.

Ready for it?

DENY IGNORANCE

Honestly, it's all over this site.

It's the *MOTTO* of Above Top Secret.

Remember, it's *DENY IGNORANCE* not Embrace Ignorance.

And a lack of knowledge, is the definition of Ignorance.

I have for you an even more deeply-kept secret than the one you have offered to us here.

I have met several people who insist that this is so. But that is a pointless datum, considering the effects that this secret has on the one previously stated.

The secret is this: The idea that you know nothing is a lie that you were forced to agree with. Before that, you knew everything, and that's why it was necessary to force you to accept this lie.

You can know. You just have to be willing to deal with what you discover. It's probably not what expected, and it likely won't please you. It certainly won't allow you to feel special.

the anonymous quote is better, agreed, thanks.

And how do you *KNOW* that?

by learning & unlearning,

by trying to be alive

by questioning my perceptions

by breathing

to know nothing doesn't mean to learn nothing.

a lie that you were forced to agree with

you cannot understand an idea you are forced to agree with; if you understand it then you are not forced to agree or disagree with it... try again

I disagree. I know little, but not nothing. Saying I know nothing would be type of false humility.
