The “hacktivist” group, Anonymous, posted a mission statement to Pastebin on June 12 describing the reasoning behind their planned and upcoming attack on official Malaysian government websites. Anonymous warned, “We fear that if you make further decisions to take away human freedom, we [will be] obligated to act fast and have no mercy.”

Here is a story that some may suspect has a 'disinformational' purpose behind it.

First observations regards the poor use of the English language by the message creator:

“We fear that if you make further decisions to take away human freedom, we [will be] obligated to act fast and have no mercy.

The reporter was obliged to add [will be] to make sense of the post.

Second is that the article states that they have a "sources within Anonymous" who cannot reveal if there are any Anonymous members in Malaysia... but ........

They further revealed that certain countries, however notorious for internet censorship, like China, are incredibly difficult to attack because they do not have many users who are based in the country and therefore do not have effective inside sources to relay information.

Also

They revealed that they fear “being backtracked” and do worry about getting caught, however they feel safer knowing that “there is a liberating faith” in the nature of Anonymous. One member stated “It’s what makes it fun though.”

This source is amazing.... they even reveal information about LULZSec....

The sources also stated that they have had interaction with another hacker group which has been making headlines, LulzSec. However, they stated that they have not been involved with any of LulzSec’s activities nor has LulzSec been involved with Anonymous operations.

They did state that in a sense, LulzSec are also “Anons” because they share a similar root. “They are Anons,” however, “LulzSec has nothing to do with Anonymous, apart that they sprang of the same base.”
Anonymous continues to affirm that “we’re trying to loosen the ties on Malaysia’s government and its internet censorship.”

AND A PREDICTION:

According to purported Anonymous images circulating around the web, the attack on Malaysia is to commence on June 15th.

Let's see how accurate this source is.

What are the chances of them reading the ATS threads? Hmm...I wonder....

hell yeah. most of masses here in malaysia opposed internet filtering for file-sharing websites like filestube and thepiratebay. they (the government) should block those pornsites instead.

This might not happen anymore, the owner of the channel #opmalaysia is a kid he didn't protect himself well when he started this operation... he doesn't even have a clear goal of why he's doing this. Malaysia is actively hunting for him at this moment. We have told him to go dark... so this might not happen anymore.

We also got a lot of other operations at this moment, for example #OpV (operation Vendetta, an Op started by the PLF awhile ago to defend Anonymous after the 40 searches in January in the USA and the five in UK and now reactivated due to the recent 36 arrests of Anons (34 Turkish anons arrested and 3 or 4 Spanish anons arrested). #OpV is being lead by CommanderX which is the owner of peoplesliberationfront.org (currently down at this moment but still can be accessed through plf.eu.pn..., downtime might be due to DDoS by some Turkish "hackers" called "Ayyildiz Tim"). Set time is tomorrow but me might do some work tonight.

We also have #opturkey on going. We also have #operationfreedom and a lot more of operations that never gets media coverage...

Also the source for the interview certainly knows what he/she/it is talking about. I was there during this interview. That's all, thank you.
