Overall, ours got back to being normal. We used to have heavy snow and extended periods below freezing. Then for several years it got real mild..usually no snow even at Christmas. But the last two years the heavy snow and cold came back. It Felt like being a kid again!

Sure glad I stocked up on Sun Screen lotion for myself and my family. Haha bet ya didn't see that one coming all you survivalist,stockpiling food and arms for the End, Doom and Gloomers....did ya? just kidding.

heh, last weekend when I posted on ATS that this announcement was coming up, there wasn't a peep in reply. Now there's 9 pages in response. Looking at the image of how small the earth is in comparison to the sun, we can see how influential the solar cycles are. Thanks for reposting and getting this the attention it was due!

(Not saying I was first, actually THESE GUYS called it on the head a few years ago).

Why, oh why, would the government of any country tell anyone about anything to do with doom and gloom scenarios?

They will not tell you. You will be always sorely mistaken if you actually believe these governments to be of the willingness to come out and actually tell something of that magnitude.

Seriously stop and ask yourself what the general public reaction would be to an 'End of the World' scenario...

I love and respect everybody but it is beyond ridiculous to actually believe TPTB are willing to lose that much just to keep the public informed....

The low solar output along with the increase of volcano activity will speed the mini ice age along. At first all you'll notice is a little cooler weather, early winters etc, but then some places will have severe droughts while other places will have too much rain, yet it means crops will be affected, and that's the start. Then the cold sets in and that means extreme prices for oil, gas, etc. So it could get pretty tough to get by in a very short time.

And if a large volcano erupts, you can bet it will come even faster than that.

What I get from the announcement is that NASA really doesn't know enough about the sun to be making predictions..

Though it doesn't really matter because the sun will just do as it pleases regardless of us so why worry about it?

If we thought the blizzard this year was bad, wait until the next couple.

I lived in Tacoma for a few years myself. I remember it was generally very nice from June on and I don't recall those low temperatures. I had an office in Portland and I clearly remember the nice weather and blooming Roses for the Rose Festival. It is clearly getting much cooler.

It's been steadily cooling in Minnesota for 14 years, South America just went through one of the worst winters in history, ice at the south pole is growing at record rates. All facts with science to back them up.

Yet you don't hear about these things in the press, because the Alarmists won't allow it.

The fact that there are still educated people who think CO2 drives climate baffles me. The sun drives our climate, always has and always will.

If you take away all the "tweaking" and "tricks" from the alarnists most effective prop graphs like the notorious Hockey Stick, then compare those same charts with solar activity you see it clearly.

It's why CO2 levels go up after warming, more plants and animals mean more CO2. It's a cycle, and CO2 is not a poison, it's vital to life.

I just started a thread that looks at Ice core data and the possibility that there is a relationship with sunspot cycles. It can be found here:

What didn't occur to me until reading your post is that there is a correlation between the concentration of dust found in the ice cores and low temperature. Suggesting there was increased volcanic activity preceding and during ice ages. Could there be a relationship between long term solar cycles, ice ages and seismic activity?

Some of it is volcanic in origin, some not.
The Earth is drier during glacial periods (the water is locked up in ice). Drier means more dust blowing around.

I wouldnt expect the government to come out and willingly cause mass chaos, unrest, and social disorder.

However, clearly there are no such things as secrets in this world. Someone would leak it, and we would be here debating it just like we are now......Uh oh....
