Hey there notsoobvious ... it doesn't sound crazy at all ... in fact I have heard similar reports more times than you might imagine ... obviously I cannot do anything to cure the existing ills of your family (for which I am very sorry) but drawing a card may throw some light on the potential cause and offer a way to stall it / prevent the hex (if that is what it is) from continuing and hopefully give you and yours time to draw breath and get some respite. I will offer what advise I can from the card drawn.

Ok, this is an ideal card as far as your request is concerned but before we get to that there are a few points I need to cover with you ... you may or may not know that I have been a witch all my life but a practicing 'Solitary Witch' (this means I do not belong to a coven I work alone) for over 23yrs ... I follow the old religion via the traditional path (no neo-paganism for me) ... the 'Craft' has always come naturally to me and my Book(s) of Shadows (a kind of journal / recipe book kept by Witches for reference purposes) are filled with the details of successful spell-workings that I have carried-out and their ensuing results ... but I discovered a long time ago that my natural gift seems to lay in the area of 'Return To Sender' spell-workings ... in fact I fit so comfortably into this area that I have often only had to think the planned spell-working through in my head and successful results have occurred without my ever having to light a candle.

A real Witch would never ever wish harm or ill on another living soul ('If it harm none so mote it be') because of the 'Lore of 3' (whatever you send out will return 3fold) ... however ... 'Return To Sender' spellworking is when you send back the negative energy that was sent out ... back to it's original source ... this means that whatever harm or ill befalls that person / people is the initial negative hex they originally sent out to you X3 ... and trust me this is very powerful magick and real magick is all about the manipulation of natural energy and intent.

Now, I took the liberty of seeing if I could tune-in to your energy from your card request and I felt a very active link so I visualized this link as pure bright white light coming from me to you ... the purpose of this is to activate your own energy which has very likely been subdued because of all the negative things that have been going on in your family ... when you have some quiet time (15 - 30 mins) I would like you to focus on this pure bright white light stirring and swirling in the position of your solar-plexus ... this is your inner-sun ... and once you can visualize the image of this mini Sun stirring within I want you to see if you can visualize the sensation of the energy tingling in your solar-plexus ... try to do this for a few minutes every day until it feels stronger ... if your family are open to this you could teach them how to do it too but don't worry if they're not up for it.

When you feel confident in visualizing this riling energy in your solar-plexus I want you to visualize the members of your family sitting in a group in front of you (all together in a room) ... and then I want you to see the energy in your solar-plexus growing and stretching as it gets stronger with your positive intent to help your family and stop the negativity once and for all ... when you feel you've got this pure bright white light energy as strong as you can make it I want you to focus as clearly as you can and visualize the energy shooting out from your solar-plexus (like a solar-flare) and engulfing your entire family in a positive cloud of pure bright white light energy ... and as this energy is absorbed by them I want you to visualize all the negative energy and sickness being forced out of them and being returned to it's source (wherever that was/is). It might take you a little while to practice this if you have never done anything like it before ... and once you are ready and you have it down then I would suggest you do it once a week until your instinct tells you that you can ease up and the negativity that has overshadowed your family for so long have subdued (this is simple but powerful because you are using your own energy and emotion).

The card drawn actually heralds a time of renewal and potential as a cycle of rebirth and healing brings inner-peace and confidence ... all of the trials have made you stronger / wiser / and more effective ... you have all endured the past and it's gifts were hard won ... soon you will have the chance to renew your lifes objectives and challenge a brighter future.

Well this card is all about bringing the balance back into your life ... I feel it may have been a little out of kilter for a while ... there is quite a strong feeling from you that you have had some difficulties to deal with ... you may not have seen them as major but they were important enough to drain quite a lot of your energy ... so subconsciously or consciously the difficulties have taken their toll one way or another ... I feel the need to tell you that whilst you my feel some pain at the prospect of confronting a longstanding situation all that you need to do is consider looking at it from a different perspective ... being stubborn or refusing to do this only prolongs something that can finally be laid to rest so that calm and peace can be restored to your life.

Quite often this card can indicate the juggling of one or more jobs / homes / demanding relationships (note this is not necessarily 2 lovers ... it could just as easily be relationships between a boss and a partner ... or mother and child ... or friends in your group etc) ... however juggling a number of factors in your life might be a joy / invigorating rather than a burden. Thank you for taking the time to pull a card for me. I relate a lot to what you have said in the second paragraph. A second chance and a new beginning. Perhaps you didn't know Woody, but I have been reading cards for others for many many years. I almost never pull a card for myself as I find that I never comprehend its meaning, when it comes to me.

Last spring, I pulled cards for two very close friends and then, myself. My first friend has some coIor springing into her life, finally, this fall and it has yet to materialize. Her life is black and white, no grey, no colors. But the autumn changes that through circumstances that are yet to be.. For myself, I pulled the Mother Earth card. What you have pulled, the wheel, collaborates these profound changes that I had seen for myself, while being unsure. I always did have a short fuse (you have no idea lol) but I've worked on that, a lot.

Then I saw terrible things for my second friend. Pain, disease, hospital...I had told him that he would be sick the coming summer. But I didn't expand. He died of terminal cancer. My second friend totally freaked out and thought that perhaps I had seen something like this for her but wouldn't mention it...The irony is that her card showed Life coming into her world...Love, light at the end of the tunnel, brilliant colors. The opposite, really...

But I haven't pulled a card since that time as I never want to see something like that again. While I had always thought of reading cards as a gift, I now see it (for myself) as anything but. So I thank you for sharing yours !

It sounds like you have had some upsetting and traumatic experiences when reading the cards ... I have seen some unpleasant things when I've read but as yet never a death ... I have however 'seen' the images of such things for people without the cards on a couple of occasions so I fully understand how unnerving it can be.

I'm pleased that you could relate to the card I drew for you and I want to add that you may feel you are traversing a time of stagnation / discontent / or boredom ... I sense an element of restlessness around you because you have the desire for change ... I think if you watch for the synchronicities you will find the new direction you seek ... use the waiting time to re-evaluate.

I am very impressed. First of all, I have to admit I am a detached person, it's just the way I am by nature. Very cool that you picked that up. When I asked for a card I held in my mind a very specific question about my long term plans, particularly based on what i REALLY want for myself.

I've been wanting to move to the country side for a long time, but every time I tried something to make this dream come true, some financial block or other problem prevented it from materializing completely...partially at most. This put me in a neutral position for many months...my heart wanting one thing and "destiny" wanting another. I was just about to abandon my dream and I received news of a little bit of inheritance in the near future...enough to buy me some land in my dream area. I had been hesitant to make a decision about my long term plans but now I have the confidence to organize my thoughts to fulfill this goal.

Thanks Woody! I must say i was a skeptic but you nailed it! I have been in a rut for a long long time. I have not really made an effort in the last 10 years. I think i am waiting on 12/21/2012 for some reason. I guess i have just read too much about it and have subconsciously set that date as a restart of my life. Oh well. It is coming soon. Hey there dcmb1409 ... there is only so much information you can get from a single card reading ... even in a full reading an upcoming 'major change' may go unmentioned because the shock factor of the event is part of the learning to be gained from it ... alternatively it will not be mentioned because you could not change events even if you knew beforehand ... for example if it is that someone may be about to have an accident that could be avoided by being forewarned then the cards / reader will likely mention it so the situation can be avoided ... however if it was the case that someone had a fatal illness for example ... that could not be changed no matter what then the cards may show it but it would be unethical of the reader to divulge this information (only a professional medical expert should issue such information) ... so you see there will be a reason of some sort why the change was not picked up in a previous reading (necessary surprise / shock or inevitability is usually the reason).

Well, this card may or may not relate to your major change but either way this is what the Tarot has turned out for you as relevent at this time ... it's a fantastic card but first a couple of things about you before we get into the definition of the card ... I feel two things ... (1) there is an element of detachment from the world/ people around you ... (2) there is an air of aggression / temper around you ... now the question is ... is it you who has the short temper and aggressive personality and stands aloof / detached because you feel those around you don't 'get you' ... or is someone in your life the aggressor and you have built a protective barrier of detachment in an effort to keep them at bay (physically and/or emotionally) ? If it is you then you need to get a grip and quickly otherwise you will loose everything you fear losing ... if it is someone else then this is the turning point and you have to put distance between you and the other before it ruins your life and all the good stuff waiting to come forward.

This is the last card in the deck and it heralds the potential for great success (with a capital 'S') ... the world at your feet ... with this card you can attain a deep sense of fulfilment and a pleasing sense of completion but you know the things that need to be done in order to receive these wonderful things where you can literally feel 'on top of the world' ... this card also heralds a time for spiritual and personal development and I feel this is particularly important at the moment ... No matter how long the journey of life might be or however many twists and turns the road may offer us ... if we perservere we will reach the point of fulfilment ... this may relate to material gain and spiritual wealth or emotional security ... but after the long process of learning responsibility for our own actions we experience the rebirth where you will discover that you can stop striving and open up to the blessings of life all around you ... make sure your metaphorical house is in order and don't let this chance of a lifetime pass you by.
