Sarah Palin Email Frenzy Backfires on her Media Antagonists

The trove of more than 13,000 emails detailing almost every aspect of Sarah Palin’s governorship of Alaska, released late on Friday, paints a picture of her as an idealistic, conscientious, humorous and humane woman slightly bemused by the world of politics. One can only assume that the Left-leaning editors who dispatched teams of reporters to remote Juneau, the Alaskan capital, to pore over the emails in the hope of digging up a scandal are now viewing the result as a rather poor return on their considerable investment.

If anything, Mrs Palin seems likely to emerge from the scrutiny of the 24,000 pages, contained in six boxes and weighing 275 pounds, with her reputation considerably enhanced. As a blogger at Powerline noted, the whole saga might come to be viewed as “an embarrassment for legacy media”.

Mrs Palin has repeatedly said that she believes Mr Obama can be defeated and that she will do everything to achieve that. With her popularity among independent voters very low, despite the intensity of her core support, throwing her weight behind a stronger candidate would be a better way of preserving her political capital and earning power than being one of the losing candidates in the Republican primaries.

Every single current, past and hopeful politician should go through this. They should be raped in the media, their emails probed, they should be required to go through every bit of name calling and scrutiny Sarah Palin is going through.

It should be mandatory and shaped exactly to what she has been through.

The so-called leaders of our country would not survive this!

While no fan of Mrs. palin...and since she is human, I am sure there is something somewhere to hide.... I do so wish the accepted media outlets would investigate Pres. Obama...or the other leaders both Demo and Repub...or the Bilderbergers with equal veracity.

I remember a couple of years back, they did the same thing to her hometown... her trash...her neighbors.... nothing to speak of really.

What would they find if they investigated the Gun Runner Scandal developing...or even the OBL killing and "body"dumping into the sea.... or even the raid itself... or the secret war in Yemen.... or why we are in Lybia, if it is for humanitary reasons we should have been in Dharfur a while ago and should be going into Syria now.

Frankly, it all seems to be diversions from the real stories of today...Fukushima... China... QE3....imminent collapse of the US Dollar...BUT NO, let's sort through Palin's e-mails or focus on charlie sheen...B Spears will be rolled out again soon enough... oh, and the Weinermobile...my weiner has a first name....

Sadly for Mrs Palin, "painted pictures of idealistic, conscientious, humorous and humane women slightly bemused by the world of politics" cannot win elections, or Presidential debates, or point to any record of achievement.

The only reason they went after palin was to find something to get heat of the Dems, namely Weiner. I'm sick and tried of the media talking about Weiner. The Repubs have someone in a sex scandel and the Dems try to label all Repubs in the same light. Then its the Repubs turn at bat when a Dem gets their hand caught in the cookie jar. Both need to quit demonizing the actions and focus on real issues. If someone has skeletons in their closet, they will surface sooner or later. The media spent more time on Weiner and Palin then they do with Japan and OBL. If that isn't a sure sign that there is more to those stories then they want us to know about, I don't know what is.

What I don't get is why MSNBC and NY TIMES are so obsessed with Palin.
She isn't the POTUS and won't ever be.
She isn't the gov. of any state.
She isn't a mayor or a senator.
She's just someone earning $$ by making pretty speeches.

These media outlets screeeeeeched that the President had a right to his privacy in regards to his birth certificate and that the American people didn't need to see that he was actually eligible to be POTUS .... but they turn around and call for massive snooping (really a witch hunt) into the private emails of someone who isn't even holding any office.

It's freak'n strange.

I wonder if I/we can get Obama US Senate time emails? Of better, his State House emails. Does anyone know if this was tried or has been done already?

I never did a FOIA thing before. I guess now would as good as time as any.

I would love to read his emails between Aires, Resko (sp?), Mayor of Chicago, and all his other freak buddies.

If Palin, who is a nobody and holds no office, is fair game by the media and many of the left wing, then Obama should be fair game as well. I'd bet you a box of donuts that if this same thing were done to Obama, there would be massive crys of 'racism!!' from the O-bots in the media and those few O-bots left in the general public who luv the guy no matter what.
