"2. a foreigner" If they come from other worlds, they are a foreigner to Earth.

The correct term is Extraterrestrial or Extraterrestrial Biological Entity, Alien was a Holywooded up word used to sell tickets. Its just another term used for em'. Are you trying to debunk ETs with the Dictionary? That's pretty hardcore. lol jk

alien is an adjective turned into a noun by hollywood. ET or extraterrestrial is the correct term.

Apparently the source you used simply wasn't comprehensive enough with the defintion...probably because it was an edited version for the Internet (I'm assuming)
Here's a better, more comprehensive definition from www.thefreedictionary.com...

a·li·en (l-n, lyn)
adj.
1. Owing political allegiance to another country or government; foreign: alien residents.
2. Belonging to, characteristic of, or constituting another and very different place, society, or person; strange. See Synonyms at foreign.
3. Dissimilar, inconsistent, or opposed, as in nature: emotions alien to her temperament.
n.
1. An unnaturalized foreign resident of a country. Also called noncitizen.
2. A person from another and very different family, people, or place.
3. A person who is not included in a group; an outsider.
4. A creature from outer space: a story about an invasion of aliens.
5. Ecology An organism, especially a plant or animal, that occurs in or is naturalized in a region to which it is not native.
tr.v. a·li·ened, a·li·en·ing, a·li·ens Law
To transfer (property) to another; alienate.

4. A creature from outer space: (a story about an invasion of aliens).

It named an alien for (A STORY)

C'mon, i want it to say full clear english (Alien From outerspace) Said the summerians

Should we Rather Say "Creature" and disperse the terms we use Aliens??

Why mince words when no matter what any dictionary says, everyone knows alien means something from outer space? The only reason to reconsider the definition would be if someone were to dispute it.

Did you even read my post? The proper terminology for "Alien" is Extraterrestrial or Extraterrestrial Biological Entity.

"Alien" was used by Hollywood to sell tickets.

I guess I am not following you here, are you saying ET/EBE/Aliens don't exist because they are not in the Dictionary?

A name is given to everything, Dinosaurs weren't called Dinosaurs until the 1800s before that they were called dragons or beasts. So does that imply they didn't exist prior to Dinosaur being coined?

Once we as humans figure something out, we give it a name, we figured out what ETs were, so we gave em that name, and it wasn't Hollywood, it was military.

This is a confusing thread and I'm not sure if it actually has a point.

*Edit Response*
Yes, but it was used as in Illegal Alien, not Outer Space Alien.

MODs, please close this thread as it isn't about anything and doesn't contribute to anything. Or move it to Skunk Works, but it doesn't belong here.
