Upon review of the NASA HQ Communication website, it becomes abundantly clear to me that there are always on-going safety programs for NASA Employees and their families. Along with such mundane things as flu shots, blood drives and toys for tots programs there are many (as below) similar to what we are discussing here. (Links to archived materials)

But just in case I think I'll pick up an extra case of bottled water and wipe off my binocular lenses. This all seems to me to be the equivalent of the 'oxygen mask' demonstration before a commercial plane flight. Gosh those seat belt buckles are tricky.

I just want to say this after reading the first few pages.

WE, are all CRAZY!

We spend hours doing things to preoccupy our minds. we work.. we spend hours infront of screens that project images. We are entirely detached from reality. And don't tell me reality is what you make it. Reality is the earth, and the environment, whether we manipulate it or not. The more we spend huddled up in a room, with a screen glaring at us, the stupid crazier we get. It used to be that, your environment is at its least when you're first born, and when you get real old and die. Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. The majority of us spend hours infront of fake realities, doing nothing that life was meant to entail. Most of the people here have very small environments, and we are becoming very very secluded.

Re-read the first few pages everyone. We are stupid. Just turn the power off.

Part I, 2 has not been contradicted. We have no other examples of NASA wide notices or download directives given via email. (unless someone has one stashed we can see. this is the first one)

Clearly part two references the most recent NASA disclosure, and possibly relates to a 'sudden need' to direct everyone to download the approved materials. (I am referring to the images on the official nasa site, and their descriptions)

This is the announcement in question, that coincides in time, with the topic directive to download the manuals.

The topic focus on this thread isn't that its just the first notice. We are looking for all possible answers as to why, if this program has been in place and available for several years, that there would be a NASA wide directive, right now, at this point in time to download survival materials.

Who, what, where, when, why and how, are all of the questions to answer in any investigation of suspicious or first time encounter of unknown activity.

Just to add. We have NO EXAMPLE of THIS communication being sent by e-mail. My exhaustive attempt to find one ONLY reveals discussions like this on other conspiracy sites. All of the legit space sites reporting it appear to be cut/pasted (like in source in OP) from the NASA website.

I'd certainly like to see a raw e-mail or have an ACTUAL NASA Employee corroborate this communication. But that is just me as I often check each grain of rice in a 5 lb bag for uniformity.

Compose a letter and send it to the proper channels requesting information on how often these preparedness things are sent. And should we expect them yearly?

If it becomes yearly, what would that do your perception of their release?

Although it might not confirm intent of communique it would at least lend some credibility IMHO. I continue to search for ANY indication it was actually sent rather than simply posted to site. (Public accessible site at that)

there have been many many people telling us to tke precautions such as building a water supply and non perishable food etc, but perhaps not from such a credible source, and it has not been wide scale.

it sounds like all the warnings that are now out there from .gov all over (which were not there a couple years ago) except this one seems to specify that when it all goes down their skills will be needed and they will need to know their families are safe so they can be at work...
So what kind of emergency would nasa employees be working on when it happens.

because they can't make enough bunkers and have enough food for everyone...yet if they tell the average joe to prep for himself and tell him directly why, the average Joe gonna blow! they will loot, rape and kill because thats what people do when they are afraid instead of getting prepared, so if i were an elete i probably wouldn't tell anyone either...
and yet they have basicly told us all to prepare for an emergency, the most anyone can really tell without telling!

First, great thread and provocative responses. In a brief, condensed reply I would ask us to consider 10 of the following facts, reports, unanswered questions that have occurred just within the last 12 months and longer which continue to multiply. 1.) Massive bird and fish die-offs across the world, no single answer, only multiple pseudo-scientific scipted anwers. No Mass Media significant research or followup to the populaton. why?
1b.) Mysterious death of John Wheeler, of Mitre and U.S. military no research by Mass media, wouldn't this equal and investigation to that of Woodward and Bernstein? of Watergate fame?, or the highly unusual single car death of Ashley Turton, an energy related lobbyist, where she perished when her car burst into flames in her garage after a seemingly minor accident. Why no coverage? Were these cases linked? Why does not the public get full coverage and logical reasons for these; 1.) Murder of Wheeler, 2.) Highly suscipicious death of Turton. Why?

2.) The sudden end of U.S. manned space flights once Atlantis Space Shuttle mission is completed? No Mass Media significant reports on why?

3.) Slowly, and maybe not conspicuously to the public. U. S. Fighting forces are being returned home. Iraq forces that remain, could be evacuated within 3 days. Fighting forces in AFKISTAN (afganistan and pakistan) are being reduced slowly every week. Suggestions of July reductions fuzzy, but so as not to create major quesions, pull down is coming quicker. Why?

4.) If not in your community, a number of communities across the U.S. have noticed a substantial increase in the trial / practice of the EBS Emergency Broadcast Systems. In Case of emergencies. Not in just known hurricane, toronado or earthquake prone areas, but all across the country. Sublimily, we are being prepared. Why?

5.) No real U.S. involvement in Middle East peace process. A lot of words about how U.S. and Israel are the best of friends, but we have simply backed away, nodded our heads and are doing nothing? I am neither supporting nor endorse such actions, just observing. Does it even matter, that kind of question. Why?

6.) As reported on ATS several times, reports of major underground bunkers, cities, survival camps, to sustain human life for up to a year. Continuity of life, makes sense, but we know about these, not so secret, so why not tell the rest of us.....or is that the intent of all of the combined awareness ads by FEMA, NIH, CDC and now NASA? It is known that FEMA had puchased the greatest amount of ready-made-meals in its' history, in the billions of dollars. Why?

7.) Even when the U.S. government and its agencies refuse to respond directly, why is it that the Vatican of all institutions validates that life on other planets is possible? Why tell us this?

8) Dr. Stephen Hawkings announces in his opinion, it would not be a good idea to make contact with an Alien species that could reach earth. His answer is logical, based upon what we humans have done when encountered with another culture throughout our existence, will kill them and/or turn them into slaves. But why would a Theoretical Physicist being telling us this? Why?

9.) The Svalbard Global Seed Vault, in Norway to contain, save millions of organic seeds from around the world in case of a disaster. Not a bad idea at all, makes sense. This is a Red Warning in 'plain sight'. Yet know one seems to really care or have an interest in this. Why? Also, Is there a similar bank of sperm, eggs for mammals, birds, insects, HUMANS?

10) Lastly, have you noticed how many shows on the History Channel, History International, Nat. Geo Channel, Science Channel, keep repeating or showing new shows on 'end of the world' scenarios? Meteors, Nuclear Terrorist attacks, Tsunmai's, Magnetic Field changes, Sun Spots and their affect on our electric grids, Doomsday scenarios'? Why? (maybe just for ratings)

Everyone who studies Climate Change or pays attention to the weather knows what this is all about.

NOAA in conjunction with NASA (for the satellite and atmospheric particle data), Goddard and various Universities have been releasing warnings for the past 10 years that by 2015 and onward we would be seeing more massive, dangerous and unpredictable storms, heat waves, drought, floods and wildfire.
The only thing they got wrong was the timing - it has, obviously, already started. Hence the release of the various emergency assistance pamphlets for their people - who live all over the US.
