That does it.

I've alerted Mods. That is a CLEAR attempt to divert traffic from this thread to your "new thread". A nice little circle-jerk of ideas that one is.

Chadwickus...When all else fails, create a

Thread About A Thread

, post a link here to it, then continue the debunkery in both places!

ATS, is this acceptable to you?

And in all fairness, your OP was directed to an article about the internal memo from NASA and only about an internal memo. You have sensationalized a topic that should be in "Survival" or "Fragile Earth" in my opinion. The spin about "What does NASA really know" was hatched up by a youtube user and a few various bloggers in which you seemed to have read and then posted.

In fact with no evidence of your claims that NASA is using this memo as some sort of "wink wink" to warn people of impending and unavoidable doom then this would actually be better of in skunk works.

We live in a world where, nature will kick your sorry ass and terrorists may stick dynamite up their rectum to kill some people. There is no foul play in alerting people to be ready for the unthinkable.

In fact you should be thanking them for such a gesture. Go pack a bag, get a first aid kit on hand and be ready.

I thank you for your ignorance and am glad this thread has gotten such great attention., as it was a great reminder to update my survival gear in preparation of what may come. Others should do the same.

I'm in the "it's just coincidence" crowd. The "family preparedness" is a good idea particularly for their employees who live on the coast (Houston, Cape Canaveral) since it's hurricane season.

We're not NASA connected but occasionally the city sends around "family preparedness" memos to the public. They've been doing it forever and have been trying to encourage folks here in Tornado Alley to be prepared in case a big tornado (we've had one this season already but that's not unusual) hits power stations and the like.

Let's face it -- when bad weather hits, a prepared family is one that's in a lot less misery.

(that said, no -- we're not prepared. Someday I'll get around to it.)

I am sorry, Don't mean to stray off topic. But, when I read that, I spit coffee,
all over the monitor.
I agree, with you BTW. Star for that comment.
And it too, Has reminded me, to take stock of my supplies!

On many official NASA PDF documents there is a tag showing the year (and possibly month) of when the document was created/updated.

Looks like this:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/960d0ee77e1b.png[/atsimg]

The above comes from this document:

www.nasa.gov...

Bottom of the last page.

Look familiar?

It's from the Emergency preparedness page everyone is up in arms about at the moment.

Here's a NASA PDF from 2004:

www.nasa.gov...

Bottom of page the same type of code is visible with 2004.

So here is evidence that these documents haven't been produced "just in time for Elenin", they've just updated and re-issued older documents.

Case closed.

Hope your monitor is not ruined.

As moronic as this "idea" is (notice I used "moronic" paired with "idea" and not the user), it should serve as a great reminder for those who live in areas that are known for activity to be ready and have a contingency plan in the event that something catastrophic were to occur.

No need for it be candy wrapped in fear.

I found a pandemic influenza contingency plan from 2010 too:

And thanks to CLPrime for this link:

nodis3.gsfc.nasa.gov...

This one is from 1999.

Ok, I read all the comments and I did click on the link and one thing I don't get is why is anyone here at all surprised?

On one hand, we all act like we're AWARE and on the other we act like little babies expecting our government to protect us? Now? Why?

It is a GIVEN that our planet is dying. It is a given that crime is blooming all over the world and even within families.

Is there a God, isn't there a God, even that doesn't matter...

If you're a conspiracy theorist, than you must know how to stand on your own two feet and be informed and by extension BE PREPARED

This does not mean you live in some hermit like isolated cabin and you get yourself a gun, like the midwestern morons I see online, warning everyone "if you come need my squirrel eating ass, I'm prepared to shoot" - NO
By this I mean, if you drag your ass to spend every penny in the mall on weekends, buy batteries, candels, canned food, water and blankets. Insulate your home. Learn how to bandage a wound. How to filter dirty water to get clean water and for crying out loud - MOST OF ALL - if you've been stupid all your life so far, take an hour each day to better your mind. Learn something new. Learn a new language. Just whatever you do, get your ass some real booklearnin' as you may call it, because soon enough, Marshall Law may be implemented along with curfews and any or all IDIOTS will pay for their stupidity with their lives (not that I would even mind all that much)

XO to all the educated, " relatively normal" people here.

As many people have pointed out in here, this could very well be standard procedure for NASA during this time of year. With that said the timing is what calls to question the "possible" hidden intentions...
NASA, in my own experience, tends to be very timely with their release of information....hurricane season did begin back on the 19th of May, I believe. It is now June 11th, I would think the preparedness alert would have been issued at the beginning of hurricane season, or even a month or so prior.

*correct me if i'm wrong on the date.

Good looking out! S&F for u!!

I didn't see that anyone commented on the most obvious and curious issue in the memo.

Memo: "NASA is the ONLY federal agency responsible for its people's safety and well-being here on Earth and in space and has a longtime commitment to safety and emergency preparedness."

The use of the word "only" is rather stunning. Either out of ignorance of language, or out of a curious contract heretofore unknown to us regular folks.

"Only" implies that once one signs up with NASA you are theirs. Welfare, FEMA, even the Federal Courts are not a part of your life anymore. You are a NASA slave. This would make perfect sense of course for NASA folks who are in space or on the moon.

If the language was a mistake it is a remarkable choice of words. It leads me to think it is not a real memo.

Isn't it just wonderful to know that this program would rather look out for their own instead of the rest of us.
Those programmed reptiles make me sick..

No, 'only' implies that they are the only federal agency that have staff in space.

Unless the IRS has some accountants in space we don't know about, it's exactly correct.

This isn't that big of a deal, all this means is that the heads of NASA have taken a notice to just how eff'ed the world is becoming, and decided to enforce safety in case SHTF. They dont foresee some huge space rocking coming to destroy us all..

That's why they have all the information publicly available and also link to other websites where people can get tips and information for their own preparedness.

I couldn't, agree more. I am, very tired, of reading DOOM in a lot of
threads here. I still, read them though.
I mean, everything's going to kill us.
I'm still trying, to digest the Mayans 2012 doomsday scenario.

At least I was able to get you to bring the info. from your thread about my thread back to my thread

Ridiculous.

Hey Mods, I have sent several ALERTS about this...Then you remove my last post.

How can I be off topic in my own thread?

It's probably just lawyers trying to cover NASA's behind. You move someone to a different state for a job and don't give them adequate warning as to potential disasters that may occur and how to prepare for them, then maybe NASA becomes liable for a portion of the injuries.

NASA sent that so people on ATS have something to talk about. There is a group of people there dedicated to reading ATS. The group was called NASA-ATS, and then later reduced to SATAN, using the common letters.
