Forget those cans that change color when they're cold, this has got to be the "coolest" beer ever!! This is a hand made prototype by the way. Imagine if you gave DARPA a year or two to fool around with this. I volunteer to drink as many six packs as possible to supply this guy with cans until he gets his final version (so the beers aren't wasted of course). I wonder what other kinds of appliances you could do this to. A stereo that can record you, shoot you and then walk away?

I noticed that, this kids living the "American" dream in Japan (LOL). But whats funnier than that is he's like 3 and when his dad asks "what is that" he says "a beer". That was too funny!! But seriously, this is a great invention.

More about it (the inventors name is Ron Tajima)

The following video showcases his first CanBot prototype. It has an mbed control board and its powered by batteries. Each leg is moved by two RC servos, and the different CanBot functions–standing, walking, transforming back into a can–are controlled by a Wii game controller.

Cool yes, but now I might be afraid to buy beer again.
As long as the two are separated in the store it would be ok. Robobeer in the electronic section and my lovely REAL beer in the drink section.

Gives a whole new meaning to the "where did my beer go" question.

A real transformer is functional in both configurations, this one obviously is not as a beer, and I have no idea what function it has after it reconfigures, into it's only permanent state. Cool little 2-second happy meal toy, but I call a fail on this one.

Wait a minute here. Are you saying it should really be a beer? Instead of ATS i think you might need AA my friend. I'm saying imagine a world where someone (say a "terrorist" or anyone u might want to assassinate) buys an appliance that transforms and kills them, records them, or crawls around their home and collects stuff or whatever it wants to do. The possibilities are endless when you have the right technology. This isn't DARPA, the is a homemade PROTOTYPE!!

You know that you have had too much to drink when your beer walks off.
