Mercedes-Benz marked the 60th anniversary of its uber-utility vehicle, the Unimog, in a unique way - by making a model that looks like a frog.

The bright green four-wheel drive truck, called Concept Design 60 Years Unimog, was inspired by the poison dart frog.

The amphibian was the inspiration for the vehicle because, like the Unimog, it is 'extremely mobile both in water and on land'.

I think Uni-Mogs are great trucks, But I don't see this one being built. Uni-Mogs are a practical work vehicle, this thing would be costing fat cash everytime you dinged the fenders.

Haha, never heard of/seen one before, so when I saw it, I knew I had to post it on ATS.

They look pretty cool, but is it true that they are used by military?

The versatile vehicles are often used as by military personnel, owing to their off-road capabilities.

While I don't really care for this design, I think the world would be so much cooler if they would just mass produce various concept vehicles instead of force feeding us a typical box on wheels.

I wish I had this, but it would need a bed. I mean, it's not practical without a bed.

Frogger is GO!

UniMogs are used for darn near everything throughout the world, except here in the US. Germany uses them with a robotic arm to cut grass along the autobahn. I don't see why the states don't buy them, unless they are just to darn expensive. The US Army does have them in their engineer units though.

These things flip if you sneeze while driving though. High center of gravity.
