I'm not a big fan of Country music...Unless there it's highly Bluegrassy,,,I could listen to Allison Krauss all day sometimes. Her voice and fiddlin; really get to me.

Hi spacedoubt, you know, when I was putting those vids together for that post, it was a list and that vid came up and I had to add that one too cause it was just such a pretty song, I had never heard of Allison Krauss before that moment, now, I'm also a fan. Country music I also don't really like either, but Bluegrass I do like, go figure.

So, I started listening to more of her music, here's another by her. And I will add some Cherryholmes to the mix on the subject of bluegrass. Bluegrass is from the old country (Scotland, Ireland) and usually geared toward God, I feel. Glad someone here knows bluegrass. Music of the Appalacian Mountains on the Eastern US.

Alison Krauss and Union Station - Baby, Now That I Found You

DOWN TO THE RIVER TO PRAY by Alison Krauss with Lyrics

Cherryholmes ~ Mansions of Kings

Cherryholmes - This Is My Son ( God Bless America )

Awesome song Choke - Hybrid, Dark . Great beat on that one and never heard of this group or movie.

I liked all those songs the last one in particular, very hard with a message. Hadn't heard any of those but liked all.

Not usually a fan of the 'heavier' rock/metal style, but if the tone is conveying something meaningful/telling a story, my ears will prong up a little to take in the undertone. Your 2nd track was a good example of that also. Liked the mayer tracks too as it's good to find artists willing to make powerful statements in their craft. You forgot Heartbreak Warfare
Cheers for those D.

Simple and profound--had to include it here. One of my fav films too.

Graphic scenes, yet powerful and moving

A little side story....When I used to visit my aunt and uncle on my mothers side. There would sometimes be another family member there. I was only distantly related by Marriage. but Ricky would bring some of his friends, and they would play together in the living room. It was awesome....
Here is one of RIcky's Video's from later.

That was Awesome! Ricky Skaggs is one of the Kings of this music. I know about that family member starting up stuff too, We would go to my uncles house and he would play the guitar and tap his foot while keeping time, he played by ear only. Sounds like you know Ricky Skaggs, cool.
