Tried it several times. Worked several times. It might take 5 minutes, it might take 5 hours. I find it's easiest while sitting in a chair on my deck or on the porch looking up at about a 20-30 degree angle. Not straight up, you'd get neck pains sooner than later. Best time to do it is obviously on a clear night when the stars are out. Easiest and best way to do it (though I haven't done it, for I don't have the equipment) is to set up a camera, hit record. Set it and forget it. Review the film, you'll see one.
