Hurricane Season 2011 Kicking Off

Hurricane season 2011 is only 8 days old, kicking off on June 1, 2011. But we already have our first contender. It is not much, just a churning in the Pacific going nowhere. But hurricane season or not, it is interesting to see something this early.
With La Nina, who knows what will happen this year. Hurricane seasons have been fairly quiet for landfall on the Atlantic side.

Thursday as forecasters warned of dangerous surf and rip currents on the southwestern coast of Mexico.

Adrian -- a Category 1 hurricane -- could intensify into a major hurricane in the next day or two, the National Weather Service said
