I would really like to watch this if anyone can provide a different link, or at least the name of the video so I can try to find it elsewhere.

I just watched it like 3 minutes before you did and it's working fine. Maybe you need to update your flash, or even your browser.
Her ya go anyway.

Hate me if you want, but I didn't think it was that great. I also don't buy the story.

And I hate the way they produce these segments.

Bleh.

ok the guy can sing especially considering he learned alone, applause & respect for that

but come on people this is really really bad -meant to make sheeple cry- tv, how they use his story to set up and raise the emotion (against his will) of the public is well over the limit of decency: the voyeurism of reality tv at its best; (i confessed it almost worked on me too) = they (the tv producers) use him for their profit.

i'm happy for him though: he probably scored the girl in the jury after that and he should be sorted now money-wise which is great;

but his biggest challenge as a human and an artist is now: to not losing his soul to this stupid marshmallow sub-zero-culture that is destroying the real essence of art; i hope he'll see through the perversion that those "contests" really are.

You must have missed the part where the guy says "You can tell what a good performance you gave from the audiences reaction"

You seem to be hardened to any sort of communis sensus.. and what's wrong with tv producers using his talent for profit?

Sometimes folks like you just don't want to be happy...

It's maybe a cultural thing but to me, that clip dripped with such saccharine sweetness it was totally distasteful.

Aside from that, the cut-and-paste job done by the programme makers is so transparent, it's like they are holding up a hoop and everyone is jumping through it - and loving jumping through it. Not for me, thanks.

It may not be for you... but yes, that's exactly what an artist, painter, author, etc does... we hold up hoops for people to jump through for their entertainment....

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that... we in the western world have been doing it since the Greeks created Drama and Theatre

Note that some folks attempt to communicate ideas through these mediums that you may find distasteful or even repugnant... but that still doesn't make this medium out to be the issue

So if anyone disagrees that this isn't the most happy feel-good thing ever, their opinions suck?

I think your logic sucks.

Did you read the earlier post about this being total sheeple food? I did and I agree. This is sappy and the type of throw away inspiration that does nothing. It's a Hallmark card. I guess if it makes you smile, good for it, but don't rag on me because I don't tear up at this.

Here's more feel good for you to prove I don't have a crabby attitude.

Kind of reminds when I was at a live show that had a juggler.

He was doing this one trick of juggling boxes - - dropped them - - had to start again.

Someone asked him if he really dropped them - - or did he drop them to imply the trick was difficult.

He answered honestly. He said he dropped them on purpose to imply the trick was difficult.

Manipulation for better entertainment.

Exactly... it's all part of the show....

Now some folks don't like shows... or have been lied to in the past and hurt so they see everything as cruel deception.... but many of us enjoy shows

I think the kid was being straight forward.

The producers fully admit they did edit and cut out the parts where the kid explained he went to an Arts High School.

Of course its emotional manipulation. The only reason they admitted it was some people were attacking the kid for lying.

It backfired. Fortunately - - they took the blame and are providing the full video.

Call me cynical but this just seems another version of the tried and tested underdog bit that seems to be a feature of the X's got talent stable.

And it is always Opera. For those that don't know this guy won.

Its just seems that they take the epitome of the lowest or mundane in that society and then they appear as a star.

It's all too manufactured to me.

It is the personal insults.... Calling people tool, and presumptuous fool, is against T+C. Not your opinion of their attitude.

I didn't call anyone a tool and calling someone a presumptuous fool is against the terms and conditions? So you can call someone a fool, you can call someone presumptuous, but you can't combine them?

What a truly inspirational video! This young man spent his life in the street, and rather than resort to violence, or a life of crime, he chose to pursue the higher path. There IS some good left in this world, we just have to look inside ourselves
