Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

There are new proposals to send a probe to the centre of the earth, it emerged recently. Scientists and geologists at Caltech in California believe that the proposal 'wil work in theory', even though there are some major obstacles. If sucessful, new data could be provided (via seismic waves) as to the earths origin, aswell as a possibility of new elements being discovered.
Plans like this have been shunned as nonsense in the past, but the scientific community is finally realising that they may be a very real possiblity.
