Birthday Party Ends Up in 1000+ Guests

Now here is something you dont hear every day!

A teenage girl in Germany who forgot to mark her birthday invitation as private on Facebook fled her own party when more than 1,500 guests showed up and around 100 police officers, some on horses, were needed to keep the crowd under control.

Eleven people were temporarily detained, one police officer was injured, dozens of girls wearing flip-flops cut their feet on broken glass and firefighters had to extinguish two small fires at the 16th birthday party in Hamburg, police spokesman Mirko Streiber said Sunday.

The birthday girl, identified only as Thessa, went into hiding, Streiber said, but "nonetheless the party was a hit."

All I can say, Im going to be extra careful I put an event up! Aside from the trauma the birthday girl must have gotten when 1500 people showed up at her place . . . this is hilarious

Did she get a lot of presents? I'm asking because my b-day is in a couple of weeks and I would like to advertise it on FB if it will rake me in a lot of loot. But if it's just a bunch of freeloading strangers wanting free beer and to trash my house, then never mind.

Seriously, though. Did she get a lot of presents? I'd like to get presents from 1,500+ people.

I did something like this years ago.
I was throwing a party at a friends house and someone printed 2,000 fliers and handed them out at 2 colleges and 5 high schools. Well the police came early when a teacher notified the principal of the fliers and there was a traffic jam on RT. 22 NP for a mile long!
What really pissed me off about the situation is the police set up a make shift check point and started searching all cars and people for contraband. Around 80 people got arrested and 15 cars impounded.
Meanwhile, we went to a safe location and had a blast!
This of course was all before the internet was popular. . . those were the days!

Well if you dont mind the possibility of hundreds of random people showing up, im sure it will be a blast. You will get plenty of free booze out of it, thats for sure lol And who knows, a swat team might even stop by with a present of their own

Oh my gosh that takes me back. One of my best friends from high school and I decided to pull a prank before we left for college.

We made tons of fliers and posted them anywhere we could think of, including the bulletin boards at college campuses in San Antonio. We advertised a huge party with all the perks we could think of: Dollar long necks, no ID's, wet t-shirt contest, live band, no cover charge, etc.

Then at the bottom of the flier was a map. The highway was real. The side streets were real. But the address was nonexistent.

The night at the party we went to a place called Rudy's barbecue (on the street where the fake party was) on the outskirts of town and watched the chaos ensue when all these cars were driving around trying to find the party.

I don't know what possessed us to do such a thing but it was hysterical.

That's almost exactly what the fliers in my incident had.

Funny these situations are like an old school version of a viral post now.
