Yeah, if Wiener was flirting with a girl -- it does not hurt me.

If he is STALKING a girl -- then that's a matter for her lawyer.

But otherwise -- this is NOT as important as someone firing teachers to give tax breaks to campaign donors.

When are we going to go after REAL criminals who start wars or bankrupt economies?

Uh huh, uh huh. Go on. I am all ears. Sorry you did not understand how I was directly addressing what you said but thanks for coming around full circle for me.

If he sent his email and attachments after hours, who the heck cares except for maybe his wife...

That's right. Who cares? Aside from most of the other posters in this thread.

And who knows, she might be ok with it as long as he doesn't contract Hep C.

You know that most of this occured before the marriage and he never actually cheated. I know those little facts are no fun though. Let's get back to calling him a child molestor!

During my time waitressing in a coffee house, there was not one cop with a wedding band that did not hit on or outright proposition me. We all have different experiences in our own little lives, don't we? Or maybe every cop in town is involved in major crimes.

There is an old saying around here. If you are going to date a cop, check with his wife first. So personal reflections are fun.

Um...

Bill Clinton had consentual sex with an adult female.
Mark Foley repeatedly solicited sex from 16 year old boys.

I am not sure if it is your tit or your tat but one of them is way out of whack.

Umm,, News Flash. House Minority Speaker Pelosi called on the House Ethics Committee to conduct an investigation into the use of gov't property due to allegations brought forth that he had.

Turn on Fox/CNN/ABC. Good stuff.

Apparently you didn't see my post a bit back that indicates another woman came out today with evidence of over 200 sex text from the Love Child and phone calls from his Gov't offices. She got tired of the dirty sextexting and told him to call. He did.

That's just the start-case file opened. From there, they will seize his computers and any other electronic devices that were issued to his etc. Then, if evidence of a crime, they will subpoena the court for his personal computers and phones....

They we are just blowing the dust off the top of the surface of this one.

Oh, I heard he was being groomed by the NY Dems for consideraton for the next mayor of NYC. Kiss that good-bye.

Well, he better think carefully: What a tangled web we weave... When we practice to deceive.

Thank You! The key word here boys and girls is ETHICS!!! A key moral characteristic that is lacking severely in Big Politics and Big Government. Ethics...Abuse of power and authority that was entrusted by the people of an elected representative's district.

Bye Bye Weiner! If he survives this fiasco without resigning or without being asked to resign the man will live on into a career of simply more of the same. In the words of the great MC Hammer "Can't touch this". If Weiner stays on of course.

Mr. Weiner should be placed on suicide watch immediately.

IMO, he's going to take his own life before this is finished.

He won't live through the shame he's brought upon himself.

Do we forget that we TAXPAYERS pay these peoples salaries? Uhm, I think a congressman makes 88,000 a year, full medical benefits, and as a representative of the government, cannot get a speeding ticket? (maybe urban myth.) We are paying people to be immoral. Why?

We are not paying them for what they do outside of work.
We are paying them not to hand our money over to the rich and the corporate giants that already have enough of it. We are paying him because he is one of the very few the powerful corporate lobby and military industrial complex are not paying off to favor them. He was on our side. The little people. If he goes and maybe that is what will happen, and what should happen but trust me you will suffer and you will pay, (unless you already are a member of the elite plutocracy of the country) more than if he stays.

Sounds like you really got some rosey glasses on over there. Pelosi called for the standard "we will look into whether or not any of our weird house rules were broken and see if he needs to be reprimanded or censured investigation." I would not have expected anything less. Sounds like you are warming up the electric chair already though.

Actually I have a phone number he can call and see how to parlay this unfortunate misunderstanding into novel rights and a lucrative career on the book circuit, followed by a speaking tour, later on he might even enjoy a comeback as Mayor of a major city.

Oh it is not the end but merely the shank of the evening for Mr. Weiner.

I can't. I could give a crap if he had a harem. I could care less if he and his wife go to key parties or BDSM bars. I would not care if he were doing those things behind her back.

The problem is not politicians love lives, it is our knowledge of them. I simply do not need to know who Anthony is screwing or wants to screw. That has no real bearing on me until people make it a public specatacle and then the spectacle becomes the issue. The lies to get through the spectacle become the issue. The reaction to the spectacle becomes the issue. All the while we still have no jobs. Yay!

Well now the Lover Boy has confessed to everything, I am sure he will be more than happy to cooperate with an official investigation into the matter. That way they can show the Lover Boy told the truth and confirm that no laws were broken etc.

I think he would be accepting responsibility for his actions that way. Just open his doors to the FBI I.T inspectors and this should all be cleared away in a week or two.

Thanks for Manning UP and telling all. It will make the investigators job so much easier. Matter of fact, Lover Boy look so remorseful that he probably already took his gov't issued communication equipment down to the Hoover Bldg right after the presser.

You know, being the Stand Up guy that he is and all.

well my standards are that our elected leaders should have character

I agree. They should spend their time in office concerned about the people they are elected to represent in an honest fashion.

and the problem with this nation and its people and its leaders is fundamental lack of it.

Absolutely. I do not disagree one bit.

and those people who have no problems with this do have stupid standards.
edit on 6-6-2011 by neo96 because: (no reason given)

There are politicians lying about something every day. My standards are more concerned about backroom deals that allow fracking in the pretty forests near my home, not who Anthony is chatting up online. I know, stupid, right?

Being rude and coy isn't working for you--sorry.

Here is a copy of Ms. Pelosi's statement:

“I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.”

Followded up with her partner's statement:

Israel added: “Congressman Anthony Weiner engaged in a deep personal failure and inappropriate behavior that embarrassed himself, his family, and the House. Ultimately, Anthony and his constituents will make a judgment about his future . “To remove all remaining doubt about this situation, I agree with Leader Pelosi’s request that the House Ethics Committee use its authority to begin an investigation.”

Source: www.mediaite.com...

Don't you agree with the Democratic leaders that they want to ensure the removal of ANY doubt? Maybe they are just conducting a witch hunt... or warming up the electric chair for no reason....

Maybe you better stop for the night and see what tomorrow's marching orders/talking points are on the subject. I think you are using the ones prior to his presser.

I just love it how people are defending him so much and you/we don't know all the facts. Just shows me what cattle like mentalities are like.

Moooooooo....

He should immediately resign.. Then he should join the Israeli Army. He's in great shape.

If he's lucky he'll die in battle...and they'll make movies about him.

Why the Weiner Doll will be the rage at Christmas. Like the Cabbage Patch. [/s]

He should resign. Take some time and write a book about it.

But my money says he should be placed in protective custody by a family member.

Are you speaking for his contituency?

Time to move on and seek employment with Oscar Mayer driving this

Pretty sure there are bigger fish to fry in NY than some twitpics.

He goes to work, checks his Yahoo profile, and spends half the morning replying to questionable messages. He's NOT doing his appointed job. He's above everyone else. He's elected. The people in NY should be very upset. The scandal is in motion. His reputation is tainted. Remove him from office. He's not fit to serve. It's called, wait for it.....

....abuse of power.

Another person trying to tell NY how they should vote. I cannot wait until it is my turn to tell Arizona how to vote.

So what is the "abuse of power?" That scenario you just made up? I mean, you did just "guess" that he is so sex obsessed that he spends all his time on it. Not so sure where you go that from.

Don't be a fool and/or attempt to patronize me.

I specifically stated that Weiner was "exposed" before it got as far as Edwards did. What do you suppose would have happened if the two of them had met - assuming they didn't?

Then there's this new revelation about Weiner carrying on his "innocent" - to some of you - "sexting" using his office phone. I think that means our tax dollaars paid for his internet trysts. Everyone still OK with that?

L atest revelations

What’s more, the blonde woman has revealed details that show the liberal congressman lied during his tear-jerking confession Monday at a press conference in New York and that he DID use government resources for his extra-marital activities.

This relationship lasted 9 months - hmmm.
