I tend to agree. After reading through the many threads - baking soda and many other supplements such as ACV (raw, unpasturized) are solid choices
for overall health. There are a number of superfoods that are well worth exploring, and many have their followers. Folks that mentioned Laetrile
(B-17), for example, have a large and growing following.
The acid/alkaline balance of the body does appear to be capable of being affected, from the many resources I've looked at. You can measure this with
pH strips. The confusion appears to be that the blood will always have a specific pH in order for the body to live, so to ensure it stays constant,
it will pull nutrients from the rest of the tissues and other organs to maintain it, thus the theory goes that a body with a non-alkaline state is
suffering, and prone to disease.
The panacea to both an alkaline state, and an overall healthy body isn't simply a magic pill, but a(n) holistic approach that is mind-body-spirit.
One can start down this path by adjusting the overall diet to more of a plant (uncooked) based diet. By doing this you reduce the bad things such as
wheat-dairy-sugar, and replace them with good things such as chlorophyll and nutrients that are diminished or even destroyed by cooking.
I've found that this is a pretty good resource for folks who have questions about this whole 'crazy raw food thing':
The Live Food Factor: The Comprehensive Guide to the Ultimate Diet for Body, Mind, Spirit & Planet
There are any number of great superfoods that people glom onto that have seemed to help reverse many of our modern diseases. Many of these products
can be found by simply typing in 'miracle' and the name of the food, in a search engine. The acid/alkaline balance is easily tested with
inexpensive pH strips. Use them on your urine, not saliva though, since saliva's pH balance can change simply by thinking about food!
As for 'miracle superfoods', the many ones that I know of, use, and have found to be beneficial for energy, health, and wellness include things
like: msm, chaga, goji berries, coconut oil (raw), magnesium oil (transdermal), maca, b-12, bee products (pollen, propolis, royal jelly), aloe vera,
spirulina, chlorella, chia seeds, and as much fresh produce/greens/fruits as you can eat in a day.
Keep an ear to the ground on glutathione - while some of the MLM companies look to be trying the same nonsense as they did with Acai, the fact remains
that eating foods that contribute to the prouduction of this master antioxidant is well worth investigating. Many of the superfoods above help the
body create glutathione.
But I digress - I am convinced that maintaining a diet rich in foods that contribute to a slightly alkaline state is CRITICAL for long-term health.
It is nonsense that we put our faith and trust in cutting/poisoning/radiation for these things, when there are gentle, easy, and effective means at
our disposal through diet and lifestyle that reverse and heal problems, or simply prevent them from occurring. Everyone has cancer, keeping it in
check and allowing the body to effectively rid itself of these malfunctioning cells is what healthy living is all about.
Cheers, long life, health and prosperity to all!!
