On The Concept Of Freedom

Hey all. This is my first, and quite possibly my last thread. I hope you find it entertaining. I will apologize ahead of time for grammar, spelling and so forth. The 17th post is by higns07, who had this to say..."Yet everyday regular college students laugh at the suggestion when I say we are NOT free. Honestly, I have never experienced full fledged freedom. I am so sick of being told what to believe, how to live, what rules I must follow by some people off in a distance and here in our own backyards."

Don't worry higns07. There is an easy way to be free. Want to know what it is? It's simple....BE FREE! It is just that simple. Nobody can give freedom to you, nor can they take it away. When it comes to freedom versus safety, we all must choose what is more important to us as individuals. I believe the world is finally waking up, not only to the fact that safety is often an illusion, but also to the fact that the very ones who try to take our freedom in the name of safety are actually the greatest threat to our safety.

I am not trying to advocate revolution or any sort of violence against TPTB. There is no need. It will do no good. What system will you put in place of the one that exists? Probably the same type as already exists. It will be great for a while. But whether fast or slow, the steady march of corruption is unstoppable. I propose simply that you live according to your own heart. You can't stop the system from calling you a criminal for speaking your mind. You can't stop TPTB from locking you in a cell. But you can retain your freedom and your integrity. It truly is the very last inch of you. Guard it well. It really is the only thing you will ever have.

I am almost done packing my gear. I am going to live as I believe I should. Maybe I will wander into the wilds and find my fate there. Maybe I will just wander for a while and see some of the country that I grew up in. Either way, I am going to live free. I will be carrying all that I own on my back. There will be no safety net for me. I will be in a self imposed exile within my own nation. I will think what I want. I will go where I want. I will say what I want. I will do what I want. I will do it because I want to. Not because it is accepted. Not because it is legal. I will do it because I am free to do so. Until you learn to look past your fear, you will never find true freedom. Just like the quote in Braveheart. "They may take our lives, and they may take our land, but they will never take our freedom!" That is because they can't. We have to give it to them. I for one will not.

I hope, higns07, that you and the many other ATS'rs who feel the same as you, will find your freedom. It has been there all along. You just have to learn to use it.

Best of luck in your quest. It seems that more and more people are dropping out of regular society. I am withing weeks of joining you all. It is hard to wait, but I believe in "working my plan". I will basically be self sufficient needing only a very small income which I can make without a "job". I hope more people realize that you do not "own" stuff. Stuff owns you.

I agree totally, Freedom is something that one Grasps with their Soul, and lives Free.
I too, am over Stuff Owning me,,, especially since the Banks, Governments own the Stuff we Rent anyway.

The IRS is going to garnish my ''wages'' to get the money I refuse to 'Give them of my own free will'',,, and I will be quiting the Job I Love because I refuse to let them Own Me as their Slave, so I can pay for Wars, Teapot Museums and other nonsense our government spends our money on.
Don't call me UnPatriotic either,, because I Love America,,, or at least the America of Our Dreams,,,,, sadly we never really got to that place of the American Dream,,,
The Banks and Politicians have ruined that for good.
I will be working on being Human. I renounce all connections to the world as TPTB have set it up. I am Human.
I am EARTHCITIZEN23,,, and I opt out of this corrupt system that is ruining the whole World.
I choose Freedom.

I'm with you all and I believe in being in just enough of the system in order to get what I want. Trust me, I give them as little of me as possible.

For the time being I still need my computer and I still need money to support my family, but I can rest at night knowing that if the SHTF tomorrow we'd be alright.

Thank you for the post. To reiterate, as much as I assert that I'm not advocating an overthrow of the system, I am not saying to abandon it either. My path is my own and you must find yours. What I am saying is that you ARE FREE! If you think you are not, then you are under an illusion. Just be who you are. www.youtube.com... Don't be afraid of it. If you don't live according to your own beliefs, how can you call them your own beliefs. I've spent my whole life being afraid of so many things.... How many times have we been told that there is nothing to fear but fear it's self? I disagree. I say there is NOTHING to fear. When you let go of that fear, all becomes clear. Just be free. May we all follow our own path and meet at the great destination of our soul's intent.

Kind of a bummer it took me two months to find this thread. Certainly struck a chord. As I can see you haven't been here in awhile, enjoy my friend.

Sounds like a quitter attitutde to me. Instead of trying to change things to make it better your just gonna go hide?

That is certainly your right and more power to you but how is living like a bum gonna set you free? Your still going to have to follow laws and rules set down by society now you'll just be doing it in dirty clothes with no money in your pocket.

You are hardly escaping the system.
