Gates: Even After Iraq, Afghanistan Military Will Find Plenty to Do

Speaking today on NPR RADIO: Gates also said that even though he “hopes” the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will eventually wind down, the US military “has never been at a loss in being told to find things to do,” seeing a number of potential conflicts on the horizon. To that end Gates tapped three nations is likely targets for the ominous “things to do” list. Two were predictably Iran and North Korea, two nations he has often discussed attacking in public comments. The other was China.

What kind of madman is in charge of our military and government (who really are representatives of the people & not the official government). Are the people in Iran, North Korea, and China really a threat to our country, when their government often sees our mad politicians and generals declare war here, here, & here, on other countries.

The American people need to be honest to themselves, we're not fighting terrorist. We're literally fighting a imaginary creation of the CIA as an attack on the American mind. We are not invading other countries to defend freedom or fight terrorism but instead fighting a imperialist war.

First off, OP, Gates seems to be speaking for himself or as a tool, not for all Americans. And second, he's not saying that's the plan just a geopolitical possibility. I hope. Always illuminating though to hear the opinions of the controlled or allegedly in the know.
