Only a combination of spending cuts and increased revenue will decrease the debt in any noticeable way. Just gutting medicare/medicaid and social security won't help, even if there are defense spending cuts. Taxes for the ultra rich are at record lows, and corporate socialism (like GE paying NO taxes on billions in income) is hurting federal finances. Cut spending, including defense, and raise taxes to where they were in the (highly prosperous) 1990s if you want to fix the debt.

Remember months ago?
Obama had that town hall meeting and a woman stood up and asked a simple question.
"Is it a good idea to raise taxes during a recession?"
----------------------------------
Instead of a simple answer "No.", we got this long boring speech about a house
with a roof. There is hole in the roof. It starts raining.....blah, blah, blah.
---------------------------------
We need to get this guy out of the White House ASAP.

The country needs Obama's tax plan, and the Republican's spending cuts. It will take both to even begin to make a dent!
We need to swallow the hard pills! ** No debt ceiling increase. ** No extension on tax cuts. **Deep, deep spending cuts. And let the chips fall where they may.
We cannot dig ourselves out of this hole, we just keep getting deeper and deeper! At this point, it is time to cut our losses, ride out the depression, and emerge victorious on the other side.

I don't know. The republicans are putting out one of the worst fields of candidates I think i've ever seen. There top guy made a health care law and flip-flops on half the issues depending on what he thinks people want to hear.
It should be a walk in the park to get Obama out but right now I'd say it's only a 50-50 chance.

Mark my words...
1.) There will be a debt ceiling increase.
2.) Taxes will go up.
But neither of these will be due to Obama. It is Congress. Do not forget that fact. Obama may like to think that it is up to him but it is not. Congress. Congress is where you should be directing your ire.
