Ok, I know this is in no way as big as when Nasa launches a shuttle. But this is f...ing cool

So, these two guys from Denmark have build a rocket from scratch and will be test launching today.
The final goal will be to launch a person into space. Well sort of... They want to send one of them 100km up, let him enjoy the view and then return with parachutes.

They tried a launch last year, but the heater that was supposed to keep some valves clear of ice broke down. (Granted, it was a cheap hairdryer from a local supermarket...)

There will be a test launch with a crashtest dummy today (If the weather holds)
If everything goes as planned, the rocket should make a nice long curve and make it to a height of 16-18 km.
The launch is scheduled for 3pm Danish time - (That's 2pm UK and 9am Eastern)

Airspace is now closed for traffic, and it seems the launch has been moved forward to 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)

A couple of ships is in the area, and they are trying to get them out of there.

At ing.dk... it is possible to follow radio communication and also people writing in with questions and facts. Right now it's mostly in Danish, but I think they will switch to English soon for the international crowd following.

Seems it was only a rumor about the 14:00 launch.

Launch is back on schedule now with about 50 minutes to go

Launch is postponed 30 minutes because of a fishing trawler in the vicinity of the launch site.
About 1 hour to go from now

Fueling of the rocket with LOX (Liquid OXygen) has completed and we are now waiting for the launch crew to leave the platform.
Launch is expected in about 30 minutes.

The rocket is 9 meters tall, weighing 1½ tonnes and supposedly have a lift of 165.000 horse powers.
