I plugged my numbers into it though and didnt get the WATS I have so.....

If the top 100 posters was based on the "wats index" then I would be in the top 50..

If it was based on stars then the same thing..

If it was based on flags then some shouldn't be in the position they are..

It's very vague and it seems admin don't wish to spell out the criteria..
I honestly find that disconcerting seing as how many mods have already posted in this thread..

What are they scared of telling us??

What's my problem? My problem is that this site is turning into the very thing it came to despise. Freedom of speech is not so much freedom of speech in this site. And now we will even have different classes of members.

It's not about YOU caring. It's about equality. Isn't that what we strive for here on ATS?

Um actually no. I have never cared about stars, flags or anything like that. I care about the content.

There never was freedom of speech here, so to speak.

We are guests on a privately owned website and we play by their rules.

I also don't see how giving recognition to members who have been recognised by their peers constitutes stifling freedom of speech?

They use to have these contribution levels below your avy, then they went away. So it's not like they didn't have them before.

I think those were here when I first joined or shortly after.

They have had a few different contribution level things on here since I joined. They get revamped here and there it seems.

Ah well it seems ATS has brought back some kind of standards.

I kind of like it. Now i just only need to earn one

Freedom of speech is a specific right of the people to speak without the interference of government. Can you explain how that applies to ATS, an internet forum? ATS is not a government nor is it a democracy nor even a representative republic. It's a privately-owned website with rules made by the owners. It is a dictatorship. You are a guest here. As others have said, these little bands of color seem to be extremely important only to those who don't have them. It means diddly to me.
