Greetings Forumerions,

[Please note that this isn't a rehash of previous threads; Annie Jacobsen's formerly "un-named secret source's" true identity is revealed, and he is interviewed in the following article]

This just in from Tony Bragalia:

Annie Jacobsen’s recently released bestseller Area 51 has stirred global interest. She has been featured numerous times on many networks and websites. Her book was reviewed last week by the New York Times. Jacobsen’s biggest “scoop” concerns the Roswell crash. She learned from an early executive of one of our nation’s largest defense contractors that the Roswell crash of 1947 was resultant from a scheme by Russia’s Josef Stalin and escaped Nazi mad-scientist Josef Mengele to “hoax” the Americans by staging UFO sightings. The plan was to induce panic and psychological warfare in the manner of the Orson Welles War of the World broadcast aftermath. . . .

. . . This author has identified and located Annie Jacobsen’s anonymous source. I have also decided, after much consideration, to “out” him. In this article I will openly name him. I have also contacted him very recently. He reluctantly spoke with me for some time. I believe that the source was indeed told this bizarre story by officials. But just why this is so will stun readers, and is not for the reasons that you may think.

The rest of the story . . .

Cheers,
Frank

I find the whole scenario of Annie Jacobsen and her book very baffling. For decades no ufo researchers could get anyone to talk about area 51(except Bob Lazar!!) yet a journalist specialising in finance suddenly gets, not one but several people who worked there to "blow the lid" on area 51. Plus throw in a story about Roswell. Now have I got this wrong, Roswell happened in 1947 yet area 51 wasn't opperating till the early 50's, quite a few years after. The book seems to convenient. to pat, Just tell them it's stealth, move along.

No where in his piece does call Jacobsen a liar. He feels that what O'Donnel was told was part of the Roswell cover-up.

Her book is nothing but sensationalist toilet paper hoping to cash in on
the current UFO craze.

Mengele was long in South America hiding and quaking in his boots when
Roswell happened, the premise is beyond ridiculous.

But the truth is this: It was all “staged.” O’Donnell was indeed “exposed” to what he says he was- but this “exposure” was planned, it was for a reason - and the accompanying story that he was told was not genuine. He was told that it was of Soviet origin. But “exotic technology” that has been recovered by military are often studied by using the “subterfuge” or “cover” of being told that they are of “Russian origin.” And this holds especially true for the Roswell crash. There are numerous times when the “Soviets” or the “Russians” were used to describe where such artifacts came from. They were a convenient and ideal “excuse” or reason for the study of such things:
reply to post by Frank Warren

These include fundamental logistical, technological and historical issues associated with the cover tale told O’Donnell. And there is this clue: O’Donnell told Jacobsen that “Cyrillic writing” found around a rim area in the craft had led he and his EG&G associates to confirm that the craft was of Soviet origin, so that the story that they were told by their superiors made complete sense. However, the fact is that the Russians would never have made such alleged “hoax overflights” of the US using anything like “Cyrillic writing” that would reveal the craft’s true Soviet origin. It would defeat the entire purpose of having our people believe that we were being invaded by “aliens” as O’Donnell maintains, like “Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds”- and so O’Donnell should never have found such writing. It was, rather, placed there by US military intelligence to encourage the belief that it was Russian. And O’Donnell was just 29 in 1951 when he states that he saw all of this at EG&G at Area 51. He was impressionably young, as were his EG&G colleagues. They would go on in their defense contracting careers believing all the while (and repeating late in life) the lie that they had been made to believe that these things were “Russian.” How very “Cold War-ish.”

To my understanding,he was saying he didn't believe the Russian theory,he wouldn't talk about it.So,what I, am saying we still don't know the truth and probably won't ever know.

And, tellingly, the “Russian” explanation that had been told by these EG&G retirees reminds one of the famous Kecksburg, PA UFO case of 1965. Some in Government offered the (now discredited) explanation that this crash incident was resultant from a Russian launch as well. That one though was explained away as the crash of an advanced Soviet satellite. Always the Russians… The story is strange. And the reasons that I have offered that I “believe” the old scientist may seem even stranger to some. I have more to report on this and I hope to release other findings soon… Roswell is an onion. We continue to peel away at its layers. But it still stinks and dizzies with the stench of disinformation, even after decades.

As for the story, if you think about it, it is even less plausible than Green men coming from Zeta Niner Gamma Sector.

Ok, so in order for this to work your gonna need small, disfigured humans that are so drastically different looking than humans that they are deemed 'Alien'.
The ABILITY to REMOTELY fly an aircraft (a saucer shaped craft at that) since children or early teenagers would not be able to do so (im speaking generally)
The American Government SIDING with the USSR on the story.

Heres what I see wrong

Even people with horrible disfigurements, are still easily identified as Human.

While drones have been flying since WWI, it seems highly unlikely that the technology existed at the time to be able to fly an aircraft remotely that distance.

And the US Government would be the first to showcase a superpower like the USSRs failed propaganda mission, not hide it.

But again, this has been posted at least 3 different times, and if you want to see an interview go to thedailyshow.com and the author should be there. But I don't take this story seriously with the amount of evidence we have amassed since the Roswell crash.

Mac

*EDIT*
Ok just watched the Annie Jacobson interview on abc.com and wow. She is quoted as saying "I'm not sure if its my job to prove it, I do know that it was my job to report it." and then the interviewer asks to speak to the source and she seems to struggle with how to answer at first, then, like all conspiracy writers with no proof, says she has asked and he declined.

But read again. "I'm not sure if its my job to prove it, I do know that it was my job to report it." What kind of reporter does not verify a story but tells it as truth? I'm thinking Fox News may have a new contributor in the making!

And of course her source is the last man living with this secret. How many time have we been told by skeptics that people can make up things when their dying or on their deathbed to immortalize themselves? That logic works for them when its against us, but not when its against them. (He is not dead or dying, but hes 90 years old.)

About to watch the 2nd part

**2nd EDIT**

Ok I don't even need to give my 2 cents on the second video, watch for yourself, she discredits herself better than any expert ever could. It won't let me get the exact URL but if you go here and then SEARCH (I know this is hard for a lot of ATS users) for "Questioning 'Area 51' Author" It will be right on top, its only a 4 minute vid, so definitly watch for a good laugh.

I dub Annie Jacobsen the "Sarah Palin of Ufology"

Note

This was my reply to another, identical thread. It was tucked away so I reposted here.

The fine people at ATS have graciously provided something they coined: SEARCH . . .

Again, the story in this instance is that "the source has been revealed–named–outed—exposed, etc!"

@freelance_zenarchist,

ABC found him, which given all the clues that Jacobsen offered was a cake-walk, but no one has named him until now.

Hiya Frank, thanks for posting a link to your article over at the 'Chronicles.'

I find it very interesting, particularly the interview between Bragalia and O Donnell (Jacobsen's source for folk who haven't checked Frank's link). The site that Bragalia refers to is Alfred O' Donnell: The Nuclear Measure of a Man and adds a lot of information and context to both Alfred and the details of Jacobsen's book claims. E&EG are still a major asset.

[b[Alfred O' Donnell
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/4bd875eca35a.jpg[/atsimg]

The names associated with E&EG will be familiar to you and anyone else: Raytheon, DoD, Homeland Security, NASA....E&EG's clients.

EG&G Technical Services, Inc. and Lear Siegler Services, Inc. consolidated becoming one of the nation's leading U.S. federal government contractors providing operations and maintenance, systems engineering and technical assistance, and program management, primarily to the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. The companies are separate legal entities, but share a common management. In December 2009 URS announced its decision to discontinue the Lear Siegler name for this division.
from the Wiki article

They also appear to run the airfleet responsible for ferrying personnel to 'Area 51' from the Janet Terminal at the Vegas McCarran Airport. The Microsoft Flight Simulator includes a 'secret' shuttle flying from the Janet Terminal.

We can only speculate why O Donnell chose to say what he said and from where he received his information? Also, why now?! It sounds similar to aspects of Nick Redfern's research in the references to deformed humans. His reticence in Bragalia's interview is quite intriguing and it seems like he was surprised to be identified so quickly.

Given the myriad claims and counter-clams surrounding Roswell, I wonder if O' Donnell was given disinfo years ago? If this was the case, it's reasonable to take his assertions as sincere and why would he seek to research the details if they had come from a source he held in high regard?

To get closer to the truth, we'd need to know who it was he trusted....who told him the story?

Thanks for the kind words.

It's important not to throw the bay out with the bathwater! What I find interesting less Jacobsen's interpretation, and what O'Donnell "was told," is that from his "first-hand" experience as a witness, he in fact is affirming what Roswell witnesses have been saying all along, i.e., exotic craft crashed, there were small childlike bodies with big heads, eyes etc., and there was an immediately retrieval and post cover-up!

In other words her source O'Donnell, recounted things he witnessed “first hand” and things that he and his co-workers were told (very important to discern the two).

Cheers,
Frank

From the NPR interview transcript:

www.npr.org...

GROSS: Right. That he's saying. I'm sorry. He's saying that they were surgically altered.

Ms. JACOBSEN: Yeah. Or genetically. It's unclear. What he is absolutely clear about is that the iconic images that we have now of aliens with the big head and the nose and the eyes, that is actually what the child-size pilots looked like. And what I asked my source over and over again, where my skepticism came in was, why, originally in 1947, when this craft supposedly crashed with these grotesque humans in it, why on earth didn't President Truman hold a press conference to show what a horrible, evil, abhorrent man Joseph Stalin was, to be working with Dr. Mengele?

And the source's answer - which took a very long time - was ultimately: because we decided to do the same thing. And that the head of the program - who my source says was a man named Vannevar Bush, who had also been in charge of the Manhattan Project, decided that it was important to figure out what the Soviets had done. And so we began our own rogue program with human experiments. And this, says the source, is why it's all secret.

I liked this part of the interview because whether or not you believe the surgically/genetically altered kids part, the part about the US doing their own secret human experiments is absolutely true. In the 1940's the US started experimenting on it's own citizens with radiation, and without their knowledge or consent.

In a Massachusetts school, seventy-three disabled children were spoon-fed oatmeal laced with radioactive isotopes.

In an upstate New York hospital, an eighteen-year-old woman believing she was being treated for a pituitary disorder, was injected with plutonium.

At a Tennessee clinic, 829 pregnant women were served "vitamin cocktails" containing radioactive iron, as part of their regular treatment.

No these are not acts of terrorism by common criminals.

These are just some of the secret human radiation experiments that the U.S. government conducted on unsuspecting Americans for decades as part of its atom bomb program.

In a gruesome plot that spanned 30 years, doctors and scientists working with the US atomic weapons program, exposed thousands of unwilling and unknowing Americans to radiation poisoning to study its effects.

For years, the experiments by the U.S. government and the identities of their human guinea pigs were covered up.

Then after a six-year investigation, investigative reporter Eileen Welsome uncovered the names of 18 people who were injected with plutonium in the 1940s without their knowledge by federal government scientists. In 1993, she published her finding in The Albuquerque Tribune and later received the Pulitzer Prize for her work.

Another six years later, Welsome published "The Plutonium Files: America’s Secret Medical Experiments in the Cold War." The book gives a detailed account of the unspeakable scientific trials conducted by the U.S. government that reduced thousands of American men, women, and even children to nameless specimens.

source: The Plutonium Files: How the U.S. Secretly Fed Radioactivity to Thousands of Americans

www.democracynow.org...

Here's the full interview if you'd like to learn more about that.

This probably had nothing to do with crashed bodies found at Roswell, but I like it when there's a hint of truth mixed in the bull#. From my experience that doesn't happen often when dealing with the average UFO/alien hoaxer. That level of research is usually only found in more professional story tellers. What I'm getting at is that I don't think Alfred O'Donnell made this story up. He may have been tricked as Tony Bragalia suggests, or it could be part of an elaborate disinfo campaign.

It does keep coming back to the bodies doesn't it?

I'm not particularly consumed by Roswell and have simply suspended judgement. It still intrigues me (UFO crash or not) why certain protagonists present differing scenarios to explain the alleged bodies as extraterrestrial or terrestrial.

An aspect of the human element that is rarely commented on is that whether handicapped children, progeria sufferers or genetically-created humans were found at the crash site...at least one of them would need to be trained to pilot the damn thing. What would be the point? Would height even matter? To what end would anyone want to crew an exotic craft with anything less than experienced test pilots?

The kids didn't pilot the craft, it was supposedly a drone, launched and piloted remotely from a larger craft.
