Closest thread to my experience.

My background is in science and logic. I don't have any way to explain
what I witnessed.(This was not a dream, twilight, drug, drunk experience.)

I had entered a back bedroom to check on one of our 2 cats. Laying on
the bed calling the cat for about 3 minutes. I closed my eyes for the last
minute waiting for the cat to jump up next to me.

Well I started to open my eyes, and about halfway open I saw a 24" wide
Red (multiple colors of red -scarlet, crimson, etc.) smoke portal forming. Best
way to describe it was smoke coming out of the center continuously flowing to
the outer edges. The portal formed fairly quickly 10 seconds.
I did not open my eyes more than half once I saw the portal.
I am not easily startled, what I witnessed next disturbed me. The portal was
in the middle of the room and 2 1/2 feet from the ceiling. This
smoke portal was just in front of a moving ceiling fan and was unaffected.

A female creature, only an upper torso arms and head. She was about as
tall as the portal of smoke once she fully came through. She was very,very,very
old. She had long yellowing hair pulled tight to her head with a small
hair ring patinated bronze in color. Her blouse/dress terminated at her waist
and was greyish white with metal bands. It looked as a corset, bands exposed with
the same patinated bronze color. 3 bands horizontal around the ribs, 2 vertical
on each side under her bosom. The sleeves terminated just past the elbow. No
other adornments on her that I remember.

The best way to explain her skin is... (your going to laugh) do a Google
image search for Iron Maiden Killers. She looked like Eddie with her mouth
closed and her hair pulled in a tight ponytail.

This creature floated out away from the smoke portal towards me. Took a hard
look with a head and neck motion. (Like she was checking in on me? wth) She
turned her neck to her right and swooped back and re-entered the portal.
No sound, no smell, just ambient room noises. Total time was about 30 seconds
to portal close.

I thought to myself did I just see this? I then did a crazy check. I moved
my head slowly left to right twice. This was while the portal was fading to
see if was in a fixed position or in my head. It was fixed in the air.


Now for some background. My wife and I have lived in this house for 3 years.
We have had the occasional bang, boom, crack, pop. Items falling on the floor.
One of our dogs had a few events of whimpering and running down the hall away
from this room. The same dog growled and barked in the same fashion. One of our
cats has done the same thing running from the back rooms scared with his
eye's dilated and just staring back towards the hallway.

So I told my wife I saw something, I didn't tell her what I just told ATS.
She would be packing, no she would have left that day. This was roughly
3 weeks ago.

I have had some strange things happen to myself, but I never have had a Visual
like this in 40+ years of life.

This is a super old thread and might not gain any traction. The only reason I saw it was because I was checking up on your reply from your introduction thread. There's nothing wrong with posting in inactive threads but I doubt anybody else saw your post.

Your post sounds like a decent thread starter. Just saying. You could just start a thread on it in the paranormal section and people would probably dig it.
