I just saw an M Flare on the solar flare monitor, and there's been a really bad storm in the geomagnetic field of the Earth for the last 24 hours. I don't have much input on this but with the Niburu alignment and the big solar flares and the geomagnetic storm, something big is going to happen soon. Please delete this is it's a waste of a post, I just wanted to get a discussion going on today's crazy space weather.

What Nibiru alignment is this now?

Considering it doesn't exist that's a fairly bold statement.
Would you recommend to head for the hills with my BOB or can I relax enough to watch F1 this arvo?

You know, this is so stupid that it's probably laughable, but I swear every time a decent sized flare comes our way my cell phone battery dies really fast.

Also, do you have a link or a frame cap of the flare? Curious to check it out.

We are entering solar maximum. Solar flares will be a lot more common. Getting worried about anything less than an X-class flare is not necessary. An M-class flare might cause minor radio interruptions in the poles, but not the apocalypse.

Wow, this is so against T&C it's not funny.

Yes. And look at the solar wind measurement.

Nasa forcasts a 01% chance of an X class flare within the next 24-48 hours..
I found this interesting when reading spaceweather.com site:

SPOTLES DAYS
Current Stretch: 0 days

I don't see it ...

How is the OP asking for his thread to be deleted if it's unimportant or irrelevant the same as acknowledging that it contains false, misleading, or inaccurate information?

As he has admitted that the information is a waste of a post, he knows what he has said is rubbish and he admits to just want to start a discussion.
It's trolling, and poor trolling at that.

I think there's simply a typo and the sentence should read "Please delete this IF it's a waste of time".

A link to the monitor you saw would be helpful, thanks.

From www.swpc.noaa.gov...

3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued May 28 22:00 UTC
Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is likely to remain low for the next three days (29-31 May) with a slight chance for an M-class event.

Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to remain at unsettled to active levels, with isolated minor storm periods, on days 1 and 2 (29-30 May), becoming predominantly unsettled on day 3 (31 May). This activity is in response to the continued influence of the coronal hole high speed stream.

Can we please, once and for all, stop all the drama regarding M flares? The biggest threat they pose is the possibility of an aurora. Let us know when there is an X class flare headed directly for Earth. Until then, this is not worrisome in the least.

I appreciate your post and letting us know about the solar activity. Now I know why my cell phone has been acting up and texting not working.

There is a difference between posting knowingly false information and information you think is important but then realizing, due to other members' posts, that the original claim is a non-issue.

Non-issue does not equal hoax.

Why has ATS become so combative lately??

This is twice in one day that I have seen this poster going off on someone's thread as if they needed to monitor and police the parking lot!

I am sure in due time the Moderator Academy will notice you!

Seriously, this is just a case of a bad thread that could have been so much more with the help of links, thoughts, and actual discussing on both sides of the fence. It is much easier to walk away, but if there is something wrong you should simply "Alert" and state why. Simple as poppin' a pimple!

Twice?
You need to look harder, I'm sure it was more times than that.

i think what turned me off from this thread was the mention of infamous "nibiru"

wich has nothing to do with the solar conditions we are experiencing from solar cycle 24

that just went back to being exciting after the last weeks of a quiet sun, and note i said exciting as in exciting to watch, study and learn, not treathening

yet...

Amen. Right up there with "what alignment with the Center of the Milky Way on Dec 21 2012?".

A friend of mine is a professional astrologer, and says that there is no alignment of any significance on Dec 21 2012.

The Center of the Milky Way alignment is a myth perpetrated by MSM.

Nibiru alignment? A pipe dream.
