Ok, so theres mass protests in the Middle east, Mubarak has been overthrown, Gaddaffi on his way out with the help of Nato. Now Spain is hotting up.
I see lots of posts on ATS calling for the oppressors to be overthrown etc. What strikes me most however is the lack of any forethought to what follows if the plans of revolt come to fruition.
How much better off are the people of Egypt? What has really changed?
What is the plan for Spain? Its all very well screaming dementedly at your monitors "Revolution! march on the goverment!" but what follows? Who will fill the power vacuum?
A few figure heads may topple and that will sate the appetite of the masses and stop their baying for blood. But the system will stay the same.
Some may see revolution, I see more sheep. Only one thing worse than sheep and thats sheep without a cause.

Exactly. The American Revolution as an example was thought out and planned regardless of what you think of it. These people are shouting for "democracy", which is nothing more than mob rule. Throw the bums out. And replace it with.....? Which leads me to a question as a followup to the OP. Who is behind this?

We cannot fix the system as it is, we must completely erase what we have and start over. That is what i see the aim as anyway.

Unfortunately your kind of mentality is no better than what we already have in place. Revolution for its own sake is toothless and pointless and only panders to the haters, the violently minded and those who would take advantage of the chaos to serve their own ends.
Those that get caught up in the emotion and genuinley wish for change, their sentiment is to be applauded, but they should beware that their desires are not preyed upon and that they do not become just another tool of deception by those who would use them.

"we dont know what we want , but we want it now"

I think your right OP, I dont think people know what they want, but know that direction the world is going , is not the direction they want it to go.
I think many people are seeing their living standards going down, young people with educations see no future, a sense that we are paying for the mistakes of governments and banking systems and the feeling that we are having less control over our sovereign nations. How and what to replace it with seems to be all a bit up in the air, but there is an understandable feeling of injustice in the world at the moment.

All of these nations will be in the Anti-Christ group of countries that he controls. Basically a new Roman empire plus some. Anything within a thousand miles of the med if you can picture that.

I'll agree with that, and I'll add that not having a "perfect" solution is never a good reason for not doing anything to solve a problem. The first step is to get rid of the existing problem- solutions and ideas for framing the new systems then present themselves.

The American Constitution was worked out after the Revolution itself.

I do believe I made you answer your own question.

No matter how you slice it, for whatever reason you choose to believe, the American Revolution was the ONLY war fought, and won against a controlling government that did not end in disaster with the possible exception of a few small, African countries.

Take the French Revolution for example, America gave them the idea, it seemed to be working and the people were sick to death of being oppressed. They won the war and killed so many people AFTER the war was over... it was a complete bloodbath, similar, in my mind to the Witch Hunts. Entire families, noblemen, commoners, were lost to time as the entire line was executed.

Take the Russian Revolution and the birth of Communism, the entire royal line was gunned down, even to the youngest child and the people of Russia had only traded a lion for a bear. For the most part, their status didn't improve very much.

I fully support anyone that stands against tyranny... but in this case, with the Muslim Brotherhood lurking in the doorway of the heads of state, I'm afraid what will happen in this case. The people that were in power before, in all cases, were tyrants, evil men but they were the evil we knew. I for one, don't want another Macmud i'manidiotandodd with a shadowy cleric behind him.

I'm worried that that's what will happen.

Exactly. This is the danger. Reminds me of Animal Farm by George Orwell.

en.wikipedia.org...

Think of the Cuban revolution as well, that worked, but my point is, like the American revolution, they had a goal, leaders and an ideology ready to implement.

What we are seeing at the moment is more akin to anarchy. Perfect for some other power waiting in the wings to jump in and seize controll. I think we could be witnessing manipulation on a grand scale.
