NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain The U.S. Navy pulled one of its ships from Gibraltars 300th birthday celebrations as tensions heat up between Spain and Britain over the colonys control.

The USS McFaul was the only U.S. ship scheduled to join the British frigate Grafton on Wednesday at a ceremony, but the guided-missile destroyer bypassed the British-ruled territory at the last minute, Gibraltar government officials said. The McFaul and its roughly 330 sailors and officers visited Rota briefly before heading back to the States.

Spain gets upset by the British celebrating 300 yrs of Gilbralter.
Why ????
Anyway I thought America was still reeling as the fact that Spain widtdrew their soldiers from Iraq..
So why did America tell its boat not to join in the festivities ???

I realy don't know whats the problem here. The Gibraltar was lost 300 years ago and they want to stay under British, so why are the Spanish always crying about it? They should solve their problems with ETA and Catalans first.

the spanish need to get over themselves. gibralter is british and proud of it and if they have any problems about it then either invade us and we'll beat them senseless like we did the argentinians or stop crying about it.
