"Experts" are pushing to add lithium to the entire USA's drinking water supply, as they claim that research indicates this will:- Reduce suicide rates, events of violent crime and hard drug use.
"cultivating a more serene social order"

Here we go.
Nothing like trying to calm the masses.
The movie Serenity comes to mind.

not surprising. i personally enjoy mineral water with high lithium content (San Pelligrino sparkling water comes from a spring high in lithium) and would gladly trade it for flouride any day. but i know i'm medicating, so there's a big difference between what im doing and drugging the masses anonymously.

its actually kind of nice, in low doses - for me. i'm not recommending that anyone take anything to alter their mood.

knowing that flouride causes rare types of bone cancer, and can potentially calcify the pineal gland, wouldnt you trade it for a pleasant mood altering substance with little or no negative side effects?

or do we know that TPTB would take it to such an extreme level that normal every day water drinkers would feel the negative side effects of high lithium doses?

Welcome to a Brave new world. This is totally crazy. Now, you can imagine the effect of the crap they put in our food. You can watch a really good documentary about food industry and how they legislate the new product (sorry, only in french). Big part of this doc talk about the FDA...

Who are these experts?

This is a highly unlikely scenario. Lithium is used to treat serious disorders. While is a very effective treatment, it is not a safe one.

There are many side effects and those who are unfortunate enough to need Lithium, have to take routine blood tests to make sure that the levels are not too high and its not destorying the liver.

Lithium is a medication that needs to be respected. They would never put it in a drinking water supply.

no negative side effects or little??

from lithium??

LOOL

you will have severe side effects due to lithium.

the thing is under lithium you will not care about it.

i guess under that perspective one could say lithium is good.

as good as ignorance is bliss

I have to ask a question here:

Because lithium has been primarily use to treat bi-polar disorder and it's level in the blood must be so closely monitored so that it is at therapeutic level other wise it it's not effective, how are they (whoever they are) going to know how much is enough or vise versa, how much is too much?

At too low of a dose it won't matter, and at too high of a dose it will be fatal, so I have to wonder if it is to kill us off then why use lithium, and if it is to calm the masses, there are better drugs to use for sure.

one of lithium's most common side effects is excessive thirst...

lithium in water? had to be a genius to come up with that one.

drink ten bottles a day, it will make you thirstier, medicated, happier, and with a shorter life span...

who doesnt want that?

after all we have to save the planet from ourselves.

I dont even think its a matter of jobs. Its a matter of how about we design a society with the good of the whole society in mind, rather than one in which the majority are exploited for the personal gain and pleasure of the minority? How about designing society to serve people, rather than altering people to serve society?

We have dealt with the issue of the unhappy masses and the very happy privileged few ever since we moved to a settled agrarian lifestyle. Maybe its time to retool the whole thing, rather than just drug the masses on religion, booze and lithium.

Ha. No way this will happen.

Considering as well that lithium is toxic and needs to be closely monitored, would be too dangerous to add to water. And for people already on lithium, they'd be out of luck.

Low Dose Lithium Improves Chronic Alcohol Problems

As the old song goes: 'I get feeling better when I'm feel no pain'. So, what does alcohol do, and why do so many people get 'caught up' drinking so much? As with many conditions, circumstances and the patient's history, including family history direct us to the root cause for the situation. Next at 7,000 feet, alcohol has 3 times the affect that it does at sea level: it’s easier to get in ‘over your head’. For some people, this is why they have an even harder time in the ‘high desert’.

When we talk about 'history' affecting people we mean: their personal history, their family history, AND the the history of humankind. In researching this third kind of history we find some crucial insights which allow us to understand why certain conditions exist today. Centuries ago, in this country, or in certain third world countries to this day, there exist a first group of people who attack other groups of people, and they steal, rape, rob, and kill the second group: this is how the 1st group survives. The 1st group provides no service, they provide no product. Given these facts, most people would not want to be in the 2nd group (the one attacked). Given these circumstances, certain genetic features evolved in some people, allowing them to stay awake for the entire night (to sound the alarm and to repel the attack at 2 a.m.) when everyone else was sound asleep.

you know i know it but then you and i are saying what the experts do not want to hear.
For they know better than you and me for they make the pills we take, the flu shots we need, and the text books on everything we need to learn, and the rules and laws we must fallow.
You and i are the reason why they need to put this in the water so we will not think, we will just do, fallow blindly them that make the rules, for we need to be ruled. this is with extreme sarcasm !!!!

Right. And they would never put flouride in our drinking water. They would never experiment on the population. They would never lie to us about anything. They would never...

Americans are the dumbest group of monkeys fluttering around on this planet.

Lithium batteries are not supposed to be placed in landfills but our landfills are getting filled up with lithium batteries from old cell phones to the 3 volt lithium batteries from France used by the Fed's and the civilian populace too busy to take the time to properly dispose of them.

We already have lithium in our drinking water.

Things that have re-entered the atmosphere like satellites and the space shuttles exploding dumped lithium into our atmosphere to eventually make it to the water table.

We already got lithium in what we drink.

Well, that was completely unnecessary. If you have information to share, share it. But keep your anti-American rhetoric to yourself because it just negated everything else you said.
