The Iranian oil industry was hardly "Iranian." Every pipe, every fitting, every barrel in which they put the oil was paid for and supplied by Western oil companies. I'd be a bit pissed too if someone just up and stole - excuse me, nationalized - a multi-billion dollar investment.

You're forgetting it was none of their oil to begin with. And the only reason why they were aloud to place those pipes was because they were given permission from the pro-west Shah. But if our 'democratic' president had asked the people of Iran, It probably would have been an entirely different story. That's what happens when you empower your own leader, take advantage of the country and have the people turn against you.

BTW, love the pic where Mossadegh is goin' low to kiss the Shah's hand. Iran needs another Shah; anything would be better than the freaks they have running the show now.

You're just saying that because the Shah was pro-west. You're blind to the atrocities the Shah committed. Yet you know every wrong move Ahmadinejad makes.

I'm not forgetting anything. The Iranian government had a profit sharing arrangement with the oil companies; but that's not the point: the equipment did not belong to the Iranians. Everything from the drilling rigs, to the refineries, to the ships that transported the oil belonged entirely to the oil companies. If the Iranians wanted to kick them out, then then should have compensated the oil companies for the infrastructure they had provided.

I'm also not blind to atrocities. (Warning: Graphic)

At least under the Shah, women enjoyed a legal status equal to men:

They weren't arrested for not wearing their head scarfs:

And children weren't murdered - publicly hung - for breaking "chastity laws."

Yeah, the Iranians have it SO much better under the Mullahs.

So, you support the assassination of foreign leaders?

Again, where's the logic on this site? Does it even exist anymore?

....or...in a desperate bid to stay in power by electrifying the arab world to divert attention from him....

he launches a nuclear attack against Israel, with a quick WW3 to follow.

He's crazy enough.
