The Masked Debater sez HOWDY

Longtime lurker who recently joined. The member experience has so much to offer and quite frankly some of the toolsets are a tad intimidating. Speaking of intimidating, I've already dog paddled out into the deep end with a few posts in the forums and Wow, unpopular views are not taken lightly.

Most of my other chat room forum experience has been technical in nature. Small appliance and automotive forums where we try to HELP other members solve problems. Seems like the other way around here but I'm looking forward to intense discussions.

My Avatar took me a few hours to size just right and I'm learning the other features and decorum. As I've mentioned already elsewhere, I think if they offered a "sneak peek" of all the full fledged member tools it would serve to entice lurkers like me.

I look forward to interacting with others and enjoy spirited debate. There is nothing else like ATS on the planet.

Can't wait to lose my training wheels and getting down to business. So a big shout out to all my soon to be new friends and rivals.

So you watched the Bachelorette last night too? That mask was a hoot. You may have stolen his idea but your mask is certainly more attractive. Welcome!

I snagged the image off Google images. I don't recall ethnic or anthropological origin and I believe it was more art related. I liked the whimsical aspect as it appears to be "winking" with my name and I really dig innuendo and double entendres. Given the cloak of internet anonymity and the nature of discussions here it sort of popped into my head as an apt image.

One thing I will say is that the Star rewarding system does tend to influence the way I consider certain posts. It makes me think I should agree with certain opinions due to popularity. The non member user experience yields all contributions as equal on their own merit and I think I actually preferred that.

Mkay. Not sure about that show but technically I joined on the 17th but just got around to posting here.

That would be the non-intellectual way to read through a thread. Hopefully, you will find the willpower to resist reading posts in that fashion, and instead use your own judgement in deciding whether to flag an OP, star a post and/or respond.
