Taliban leader Mullah Omar killed in Pakistan

news.xinhuanet.com

KABUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been killed in Pakistan, a private television channel reported Monday.

"Mullah Omar was killed on way from Quetta to North Waziristan, " TOLO television said in its news bulletin.

However, it did not provide details on how he was killed and by whom.

Meanwhile, a security official confirmed the killing, saying, " It is correct that Mullah Omar has been killed."

The official emphasized that Mullah Omar was killed inside Pakistan.

Taliban militants fighting Afghan and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan have yet to make comment.

Mullah Omar has survived massive U.S. military manhunt since the collapse of Taliban regime by U.S-led invasion in late 2001 for sheltering al-Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden.

U.S. commandos killed Bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan on May 2

Oh wow! First Osama Bin Laden, then Mullah Omar who is the leader of the Taliban for those who do not know. Whose leaking and killing them? CIA? Could it be that somebody in Al Qaeda wants them removed to climb the ladder in ranks? Its too much of a coincidence that two leaders of two organizations be killed in just a few weeks.

Or its possible that the intel gather from Osama Bin Laden's place revealed Omar's location as well. So the CIA went to check to confirm before making the kill. Who wants to bet it was either Predator drone or ambush by SEALs while he was traveling?

This should raise a red flag, first Osama Bin Laden and now this? What are the odds that the guys the U.S. has been after for a decade would be killed in the same month? I think the U.S. wants to put an end to this "War on terror" to pull out the troops and focus on more serious stuff that might be brewing somewhere else.

I find it odd that Benazir Bhutto claimed
in 2007 that Omar was the one who killed
OBL the first time.

Wasn't Omar already dead once before
just like OBL was ???

Listening on the radio now...they quoted a BBC report saying drone strike which also killed 20 people killed Omar.

Lets see if Pakistan fires up over this or not.

BBC huh? So far we just got only confirmation from Afghan news so we can't jump to conclusions yet.

I read the Taliban were bombing bases earlier in that area. Not surprising news claims US went after another leader....or hit where he was.. that is if confirmed to be real.

Pakistan wants China to build a naval base and is providing jets. With China in on the matter, even though it's said they don't have the power of the US-yet, this can still be real serious.

Remember?

Obama says he'd raid Pakistan again

LONDON (AP) — President Obama says he would order another covert military raid like that which killed Osama bin Laden if it was necessary to stop terrorist attacks.
Pakistan is furious that that United States sent Navy SEALs to raid bin Laden's Pakistan hideaway earlier this month without informing Pakistani authorities.

Obama told the BBC in an interview broadcast Sunday that "we are very respectful of the sovereignty of Pakistan," but "our job is to secure the United States."

how convenient...

seems like the CIA is erasing and killing all possible leads and witnesses from their phony war on terror, while making sure obama will get the reelection.

what a win win situation

first you recruit, then you train and deploy them, and when they are no longer usefull kill them and let the people scream

USA! USA! USA!

what a comedy

the thing i love about the CIA is they always stick to what works best

It will be very.... interesting... to see how Pakistan respondes too all of this over the next 72 hours.

The game is afoot, and the directions things could go, and govery quickly, could be very ugly, very fast.

The big question tho.. Where are things headed, and how soon?

Vigilence is key.

The case for Pakistan and Iran is building up.

1. The supposed Al-Qaeda leader OSama bin Laden killed in Pakistan.
2. Mullah Omar, the supposed leader of Afghan resistance killed in Pakistan

1. Supposedly Iran knew about 9/11 attack prior to it happening.
2. Supposedly Iran trained 9/11 hijackers.
3. Supposedly the care taker leader of Al-Qaeda is in Iran.

Is this the pretext for a World War, or is this just a pretext for Pakistan, or Iran, which comes first? What about Libya, what about Syria.

This is intensifying.
